You box looks great. I wanted to do one i side the house aswell; wife doesn’t like the smell. So, my compromise was to build an insulated box and put in garage.
I would like the convenience of an inside grow.
Thanks for the welcome. I have been snooping around these forums for over a year before signing up.
I suppose i will keep adding to this thread weekly to show growth progress and if the box works or not.
I will read up and catch up on what you have set up and give ya any opinions or suggestions i can my brother! This shouldnt be an issue, you should be able to do a fine grow in a grarage. Is it insulated or heated at all?
Insulated with 2" foil faced polystyrene, 3/4 air gap and heated with 500watt heater. My garage has dropped to 25 to 30 degress but box stayed at 73-78.
Ah, humidity…thats the issue. I didn’t put much thought. I have grown outside, cant control that out there. I ordered a hygrometer under advice of others on here. I do know that the average RH% in my area at this time of year is 75%, but with my lights and heater inside…just assumption…is much lower in the box. I am considering a reptile humidifier with a hose connection I can put homemade diffuser on if need be. Just dont know right now.
That is ideal for flower or veg. Well young plants can use up to 80%RH but grow fine in 50%-90% range. Lower than 50% and leaves and branches kinda get stiff and tight if you know what i mean. Like you can notice the plants leaves relax when the RH bumps up to 75%.
Well you have ventilation for fresh air to be coming into your box right? And an exhaust taking that air and pulling it out so you have constsnt circulation of fresh air?? Because i installed a regular heater or “wall grate” vent on the side of my stealth box and i keep a humidifer right near it. My exhaust goes on the opposite side of the vent in the stealthbox sell it pulls fresh air through the box across and out the other side if you put a humidifier outside the vent your exhaust will suck in the humidity and helped create the better environment you need and then you can dial it into where you want it. Also by adjusting the fan speed on your exhaust
I have the air flow dialed in for temp. I may do a wet rag in a plastic container of water until i see pistols. My vents are a series of 1/2 holes in the bottom of the box totaling 6 total inches. Money not really an issue so I may buy a large Boveda at 65% humidity. I think they make ones for large humidors. I have also been checking out reptile humidifiers. Not alot of floor space in there.
I saw your box. The humidifier near the vent grate. If you wanted more stealth you could build baffle box to block that light escaping, but i could only hope to get plants as gorgeous as those.
My hope is this box works so next winter and fall i can really focus on results. The bug has hit me though, i will continue outside when weather is right, but i think i will start to nurture this plant to produce.
Ive heard bovedas can take away from terpenes but i havent read into it just saw someone posting about it. I would do the bucket or barrel woth wet rag. I literally i have the SAME thing going right now in my new room. I have a 5gallon poland spring bubbler bottle thats filled in corner with a wet rag hanging out PLUS i have a humidifier on blast haha. But my.New grow space is about 10x12 now so
And trust me stick around read up and follow a few of the really good guys around here I can tag a few if you would like and I promise you your grows will improve every single time. I have met some amazing people on this form the knowledge is endless! You will be growing absolute fire homegrown in no time
Electric bill must be high with room. I have lurked for over a year and would love to get better at this indoor grow. Outdoor is kinda simple compared.
Oh definitely i grew outdoors for years. This is only my third indoor run hahaha. Got tired of dealing with the pests outside and i stopped growing for about 6 years. When i looked back into it i found this website and LEDS and the quality everyone was producing and i was hooked myself! Haha. Outdoor has its dtruggles, dealing with mold, mildew, rain, pests, animals, neighbors etc haha
Dont know if DLI level of 32 is good enough, but this thing sprouted 1 week ago.
I dont see any issues. This box has held a good 75 degress on average and after watering sits at 60 to 70 humidity. I am hopeful the box is doing its job.
Haha see ok perfect. @bsjapost Nickys thread here is where alot of us picked up DLI info. But i also have learned a good amount fr Hells journals when the topic comes up
