I have been keeping them in my grow room on a 16/8 cycle, but due to setting them outside, it got dark around 3 hours earlier then when my light is scheduled to turn off.
Ihave topped the plant twice and this is recovery from being repotted and second topping. It seems to be on this single branch in the bottom of the photo, but may be starting other places aswell.
It is possible that they are starting to transition to flower due to the longer dark period. Putting them back in 18/6 should cause them to revert to veg. If they are trying to flower, it is just starting so put it back on a veg schedule and they should be fine.
There will be some weird growth for a while, but they should recover.
Edit: Is that guitar body one that you have built or are building? I don’t have electric but am learning on my acoustic.
It is one i started building a year or so ago, but i am in the process of finishing still, lol. I have had alot on my plate, and alot of custom orders for other customers needing completed. It will be back on the table soon and finished!
It seems that most folks turn their light up and down. I run mine a 100% except during early seedling stage. My experience is that if other environmental factors are correct, more light means faster, healthier growth.
Many folks report just the opposite. This is not a great answer but it is the only one that I have for you.
For instance, my light intensity (ppfd) is 850+ at the SCROG net level and exceeds 1600 on the top colas late in flower.
I just completed switching them to cloth 5 gallon bags, putting them on the self watering bases, and doing the LST stuff. How did i do for my first time? I used long fuzzy metal sticks from the craft store instead of bread ties.
The LST looks good. I tie mine down with 12 & 14 gauge electrical wire because I have plenty of it sitting around the shop. Those fuzzy metal sticks are excellent.
You were just a bit too aggressive on that one. That is part of the learning process, figuring out how much the plants will take. It took me a couple grows to get it nailed down.
The plants are resilient if the environment is solid.
You are doing a great job with this. You will not be disappointed in the results.
Edit: One thing that I do that is not as common, is that I don’t top my plants. I just use LST. I am not opposed to topping; It is just that I get just as good of results without topping so I don’t bother.
From this point, if they were your plants, how much longer would you veg them for? I just dont know what to expect. Should i wait till i see bigger growth on the smaller branches i just exposed by doing the LST?
I am at work atm, and cant take a photo. But here is an earlier shot of the room, and my most recent photos of them after i did the repotting.
First picture is of the room its self, its a 3x4x8 room i framed in. I have alot of room upward to grow, and currently it looks like i would have enough room to get 3 5gallon self water bases in there comfortably.
When they are about 3/4 the size that you want them to be when finished, then flip to flower.
Some would say flip earlier and some might say later. It really is a judgement call and depend a lot on your style of growing. It took me a few grows to dial everything in and to establish my growing style (which is just a bit out there LOL).
