When to initiate flower?

This is my second year of growing, and my ladies are MUCH bigger than last year. I’ve been using beanstalk nutes, a better lighting system, and SCROG method this year. I put seeds in dirt here in Kentucky around April 1, I’m doing a hybrid indoor/outdoor grow and I planned on vegging until Aug 1st. I went on vacation last week and when I came back I was greeted with exponential growth! I know the timing on when to switch to flower is a feel thing, but I don’t have enough experience to know the timing yet. I’ll attach a picture of their current state. Should I go ahead and switch these to flower or keep vegging out and try for some monsters?

Once flower stage is initiated the plant tends to double in size. So go off your grow areas limits!

Thank you! I’ve got quite a bit of room. Here a couple more photos

The plants will stretch some too. I would fill out that scrog a bit more. Usually you will continue to scrog a couple weeks into flower. the plant will then stretch up a bit. As long as you have enough vertical space! Are those spider farmer grow lights? I tend to keep mine 30cm or 12 inches above the canopy in flower.

These are actually a brand called Abriselux. So far I’m pretty pleased with them, but still apprehensive about how they’ll do in flower.

So I’m about 10 days into the switch to flower. I was able to weave for another 4-5 days at first, but now the stems are becoming pretty rigid. I don’t want any of them to snap at this point because I’m starting to see early pistils. For now I’m just keeping the undercarriage clean and letting them go unless somebody has other advice. Vertical space isn’t really an issue.

That’s looking like a nice even canopy! Let them go! Will you be able to move your lights up if they grow vertically some more?

Yep! They’re in a gabled garage so I’ve got another 12 feet or so of vertical space.

I’ll post some updates as they flower out. Had some PM issues last year so I’ve been feeding silicate and increased my circulation, so fingers crossed!

Well it looks like you’re going to have a beast of a plant! Yes, Please do keep us updated! Whats your RH?

It’s around 50-60 range right now, I’m going to drop it the farther into flower they get.

Sounds good! Sounds like you’ve got it dialed in.

3 of the 4 plants are progressing nicely, but one of them (purple haze) has started to have pretty significant leaf curl. It got really hot here one day, so I thought it might be heat stress but all the other 3 look fine. I’ve been following my same routine or beanstalk absolute flower in the soil and adding silica every two waterings. Not real sure how much of a concern this is.

Have you noticed less water uptake by the one plant compared to the other three?

I don’t think so. Seems to be drying out at about the same rate.

Im about 6 weeks into flower now. I had a quick battle with spider mites, but I think I’ve got it under control now. I was checking trichomes and saw these little black spots, anything I should worry about?
