Does anyone know if it has been proven that dense buds, “rock hard”, like you could break plate glass with or something, have more potency than good solid sugar coated buds. Not talking about, loose airy ones. But I mean oz. for oz. Anyone know for sure?
I would guess that the denser the buds the more tricomes are on them so higher potency but I’m a little drunk and stoned so my science may be off
Hey @dirtydave, I have to admit to being “under the influence” myself. Maybe that’s why these questions get me going.
OK so one ”rock hard” denser bud vs let’s say 3 nice resin coated buds who’s surfaces that have been exposed to direct light. Inside that bud contains more THC, CBD etc…? I mean is there a point of diminishing returns? There must be a scientist not purchased by the FDA, NIH, WHO, or CDC who can come up with proof one way or the other. You know actual peer reviewed science like we used to have before 2020.
@6stringT Don’t forget CNN!
it would be pretty easy to test this, no scientists needed. get equal weights of the buds you want to compare and then make separate qwets. whichever one produces more wax is more potent
My lungs are willing to test anything you need in the name of science
Nothing like stoned science
actually this would be a good experiment to compare auto vs photo of the same strain
Hey there @alexankh , I’ve read in several places that autos produce more CBD. How do they come up with that? I guess that can be proven? Same strain auto vs photo would be interesting as you say. Then there is the differences between individual plants. I like the experiment; same plant, different parts of the same bud. Inner vs outside
i think ruderalis in general tends to lend CBD to the mix, and yes the same experiment could be set up
@6stringT I do have some of those hard buds there great. Pull a chunk off annd smoke. Just like pulling a piece off a chunk of hash. Who knows only the smoker knows aye guitbox.
Nope! Denser budz do not mean a higher THC%. If you are simply looking at wight than yes thay might test out higher due to the overall ratio of THC to plant matter.
Dense buds are not a sign of high THC levels.
There have been tests on flower as it matures: our desire for more bulk actually leads to a loss of potency. Peak potency occurs a couple of weeks before we usually harvest.
THANK YOU @Myfriendis410 This is what I suspected! Don’t want to waste time “reinventing the wheel”. How do I find such test results? This is so interesting to me. I mean does anyone know what is the point of diminishing returns? I’d like to explore this issue. You say weeks before we usually harvest? Wow! What would the trichomes look like under magnification at that point? Thank so much for your input!
@anon86641082 Thanks, for addressing the actual question. I suspect you are correct, but my opinion is only subjective, not scientific.
Yum hash buds! Yes A Guitbox man I am.
Thanks @dirtydave , It says it’s age restricted…must be I’m too old. Actually I won’t sign up for anything Google, Fasefart, Twitsnit. Perhaps
I’ll sign up for Truth Social when it come on line. But that’s it.
You can watch it without signing up.
@Myfriendis410 They want me to sign into google. So I read the text and understand. But here is the Q. Does a “rock hard” bud contain more cannabinoids or less. Or are you saying that the later harvest that one assumes would produce a harder bud = less?
