Hello and welcome everyone here I am starting another grow my 3rd of the year 
I use miracle grow potting mix, always did and always will, I find it a very well draining medium but time released nutes are a problem but I have work arounds for all problems, as I been doing the same thing for years now with good results. I start 4 seeds and keep the best 3 after a couple weeks, donate 4th to a buddy 
I grow in 3gal plastic pots and seeds are put directly into the forever home. First thing I put a 1/2 to 3/4 inch hole in the middle of the pot, put in seed and lightly cover, then I pour very carefully in tight circles a full 16oz cup of water
This wets a circle 4 inches around and about 5 inches deep so the seed has a nice damp place to set down good tap roots 
Remember there is dry soil around and below so no way to over water. And I am only activating the nutrients in the wet zone not the whole pots nutrients, so no chance of burning the seedlings, over the next couple days I use a little water to keep areas where the seeds are moist never allowing them to dry out. Put a hlg 100w 4000k spectrum for veg above 15 inches.
Well 3 days and all 4 sprouted
Here is the line up all feminized
#1 Early lemon berry from Ethos genetics she is a 50/50 evenly balanced strain with a possible 21% thc
#2 Sugar black rose e/v from Delicious seeds indica line, she is 80% indica with a possible thc of 24.8%, she is a early version quick flowering strain.
#3 Girl scout cookies extreme from ilgm, she is a 80% indica with a possible thc of 21%
#4 GMO cookies from ilgm, she is a 90% indica with a possible thc of 28%
