Dennis 62 simple grow #12

Hey you guys this is day 1 of my new grow, I was going to just do burgmans seeds, gold leaf and bannah kush but desided to throw in a Afgooey by strain hunters. So 3 plants in my 2x4 closet (closet I share with my clothes and can use more than 4 wide) so should be tight. All 3 popped great, I always put seeds in soil 1/2 inch ( I do not pre wet whole pot ) then I pre wet area where the plant is using, so for now I want an area 3 or 4 inches around the plants and 3 to 4 inches deep, and because it is surrounded by dry soil I cannot over water. My thoughts on miracle grow potting mix if you pre wet whole pot you are releasing all the fertilizers at once and it can be too hot, whereas if you just wet ahead where roots will be your just activate some of the available nutes. Anyway back to seed 1/2 inch down, then I take a full 16 ounce (3 cups ) of pHed water and very carefully pour water in circles around the seed till a wet area around and under the seed is moist, then every day I just dampen seed so it doesn’t dry out till sprouts pop up. Then I water every other or every 3rd day around and as deep as the plant is tall, so root zone is moist. So just about every watering I add more till plant is wide as the pots and as tall, by then I’m watering to run off. Okay as usual I am using Miracle grow potting mix, I dug a cup size hole and filled with miracle grow seed starter mix ( less hot ) as I burned my first afgooey last grow, I’m using a little more caution this time. I am using a product call speedy veg now, they call it a growth accelerator, as it has micro and macro nutrients, it has no nitrogen so safe for seedlings. So I add to every watering for next few weeks. Today was first application  I am running them under a hlg 100 v2 4k for vegging, @ 18 inches above the seedlings on 18/6. So off we go to a new start, hopefully all 3 will be make it lol we will see… I have to tag people here soon, but no time time to look up everyone today, here’s Day 1

Okay some off the top of my head lol @SKORPION @Work4iT @CC_Mo @Bulldognuts @Carpenter @spankyjr1 @dirtydave hopefully you are all doing well. I will also be updating my daughter’s outdoor plants later this week, fall colors are coming. Happy growing yall

Thanks @Newt @SilvaBack203 @SKORPION @CC_Mo @spankyjr1 glad to see ya guys. Ha ha now we’re worried about the cold now nights!!! Northern Nevada is in 40s this time of year, but if we get a low pressure system from the north temperatures can dip into freezing so have to cover plants. They are pretty hardy as long as you keep frost off the leafs they do good, till a hard freeze in the 20s. But my daughter’s lemon berry is turning color because of the lower temperatures, purple on the buds and yellowing lower leafs, I can’t wait to see them in a few days.

Oh and yes @CC_Mo my grow space is in good temperatures and VDP is just right this time, the girls should be happy. They are all doing well today and pineapple is streaching a little so dropped light 2 inches to 16". And to you that are new, my last grow my plants were given too high temperatures early in grow cycle and it messed up my entire grow. I had a good yield, but plants produced loose buds, more like loose flowers on pineapple not even what I call bud… but I hope I learned from my mistake. Also I wanted to say last grow was the first time I did not put a fresh co2 bag in my grow space, I know they say you don’t need co2 unless you are running massive lights, but I do not ventilate, so I do not bring in co2 from fresh air, I don’t need co2 till the plants get bigger and are producing lots of oxygen, then my closet becomes hyperoxygenated, and needs added co2 especially during flower. I’m also aware co2 bags do not produce very good co2 levels but I feel they help get better bud density with it. I bought and put a new bag today. Buy the time my plants are needing it bag will be producing best co2

Anyway it’s something that this grow will confirm for myself. We will see in 4 months or so.

Are you planning to grow these 3 in your closet to finish?

Lighting will be your issue if so, thst light is sufficient to flower 1 plant.

Thanks @Nicky I like my hlg 100s for my closet, I have 2 4k boards for veg, and 2 3k boards for flowering. Two of these are good for 2x4 without getting my closet too hot as I don’t ventilate, just a small fan in there. I have a extra driver and can put another 100 board total 3 during flower, but temperatures climb too high lol… I bought and put together a hlg 260, but it ran too hot and I gave it to my buddy. Have more lights. I start seedlings under one light for the first couple weeks or so… 3 plants are tight but I can use more of my closet but done it a couple times

Sounds like you have a plan that’s good, I just wanted to ensure you were looking ahead.

Dennis,

What weight do you think you are going to pull off your girl’s Lemon Berry cured out? I am guessing 10 to 14 Oz as a wild a@@ guess.

Also are those in your new grow Autos or Photos? I grew out a ILGM “Gold Leaf” Nice Beautiful buds. Stoned, Buzzed high. Very Nice smoke.

Hey man well no autos this run, all photos. Yes I bought gold leaf cuz I’ve seen some beauty’s on the forum. I’ve done bannah kush it was great, high thc. Afgooey was an after thought lol, shooting for a good yield this grow. But 3 plants is a lot in my closet. Oh and I just clipped off a branch off lemon berry and popped all the colas off for a fast dry and see how they dry, they feel full and I think will be nice nuggets  and im thinking about a pound off lemon berry, 1/2 pound off LA ultra. I’m so flipping happy for my daughter, but she’s going to have a big job harvesting them, it’s a good thing her plants are a couple weeks apart. I also looked her tricomes and mostly cloudy with a few more amber than I like, but she is at peak and I gave my daughter the green light to chop her. Her real name is Early lemon berry, and is breed to harvest early, she is 8 weeks into flower, could let her go further but don’t care for couch lock.

Yea that is one impressive looking bush. Nice work! I am way too close to neighbors to attempt having a bush like that outside. It has got to smell nice.

Bet your Daughter loves her Daddy!

Oh my gosh yes it smells crazy bad, and the fence behind lemon berry is a street and you can see through the slats, everyone has to know. I’m suprised nobody has stolen them lol. If your in a lifted truck and you drive by you see them

Yep I’d be looking for the saw. Come outside to a cut stump and she would be devastated.
