Defoliate or leaf tuck?!?

Before trellis

After trellis

Just curious what others opinions are and what they would recommend. I’m fairly new to photoperiods and using a trellis

@KoupRyder , NICE, Healthy looking plants brother!!! Have ya looked into fimming, mainlining, manifold techniques? it WILL definitely help you, with lots of sweet bud to enjoy , and congrats on the netting job , not easily done without some damage to your grow ,

I would just LST them. That way you can keep the feeder leaves.

Yes I have looked into those techniques but never have implemented them into my grows I just usually top once and Lst.
I plan on proceeding forward with plants as seen tho. Just curious if leaf tucking or selectively striping a few off here and there would be more Ideal

In my opinion it’s to early to start stripping leaves.

Definitely what I’m leaning towards doing. Just curious about what some people think who are more experienced would do

I have nver been a big fan of leaf removal. Plant need leaves to grow and mature. Although some do defoliate intensely.
My current grow. Only leaves i removed are ones below the scrog that the plant has no use for and were dying anyway.

Tucking is best but sometimes you may get tired of tucking a stubborn leave that keeps insisting that it is the boss. When that happens I snip it off. I never liked defoliation but some go crazy with it. It works for some growers but some not. I assume it depends on nutes, medium etc. Because everyone’s grow may be similar but not in every way. Good luck

I keep my fans tucked right up into my plants to ensure plenty of air flow. That prevents mold and increase the plants strength.

I to my plants advice the 5th node and that’s all i do. They grow how the want with no lst or anything. When the leaves are too thick for me to see spots of lights thru them then i will cut some leaves. That happens every couple of weeks in Veg.

I trim mainly from the top and center. That gives good light into the heart of the plant.

I believe the plant grew those leaves for a reason, so they can keep what they grow.

I would do a heavy defol simply for the fact of getting light penetration down into the canopy to create new cola’s. What’s the point of spreading it out in a trellis?? To fill it up…so cut the big fan leafs off so that the plant will do that. Otherwise your gonna have half the plant with loose larfy buds.

This defol may look heavy

But this is your reward for allowing deep light penetration

Very nice plants! I decided on defoliating. I removed trellis only temporarily as I wasn’t able to really get in there.

Probably as heavy as I’m willing to go for now
