@scylents Not sure what you`re talking about? clarify" I’m sure pray works. I’m just saying that pulling out of its habitat is destructive"?
@Mr_Wormwood 100% agree…Roots don’t like the light…
I bet watering everyday a 25 lb bags of jacks will last a year tops here but I go thru 15 to 20 gallons a day at this point I bet I’m about half or close to half gone on a 25lb bag already third at the least is gone but way better than spending on other nutes.
Hey @DebbieM I believe I sent u a couple of the revenge CBD seeds also if u end up with a male drop one of them for urself it’s a beast so far Of I did send u some those are supposed to be fems my first one was so far. The only fems I had from that place so far lol.
It’s your turn
Didn’t send that kind
First off let me say, You have some beautiful plants there my man!
So, with what you mentioned about Coco and the need to feed from the get go with Jacks, which is what I use now as well, I gotta tell ya that I have needs too!!
Full time job, wife, extracurricular activities and I have 15 minutes in the mornings and maybe an hour at night to tend to my ladies so simplicity is a key for me. For the first six weeks of veg I don’t even Ph my water, let alone mixing my Jacks.
Tho I’m now saving my used potting mixes in a compost pile in my yard as well and for next year, I’ll be putting it back to work with the summer girls and my vegetables.
I use a 50/50 mix of Happy Frog and Ocean Forest which I run thru the Bbq for 40 minutes at 250’ in a big aluminum turkey pan to kill off any insects. I mix another 25% more perlite in and voila!
Im good with just water for the first 6 weeks and the time I have in life to dedicate myself to my grow and the fact that, I’m not in a rush to push thru grows and such so I went with “soil” method of growing.
When ad if I’m lucky to get to retire and enjoy some more free time I’ll go to hydro!
Peace bro!
Lol I have only gone through about half of what he sent m to even see what kind of greatness I got
I know I got purple titties
Lol
Hmm I swear I sent u some of them also. Maybe I still have them in my box on accident. Lol
See that’s just the thing. With coco there is less work. Imo. I don’t have to remember water only days. There are none. Every single day, full strength feed. I don’t have to water slowly, takes less time to water. I make my feed once every 2-3 days on average. Just dump it in daily. Remove runoff with wet vac. Move on. Way less time watering and memory required vs soil. I litterally bottle my mixed nutrients in 1.75s. dump entirety in. Come back in 2-3. If no runoff. I give a half one. Come back again in 5, vacuum out runoff. Done for the day.
Budz can you give your coco recipe? I’m transplanting this weekend and I’m still undecided on soil or coco.
I use canna coco bricks hydrated and fed with full strength jacks. I use 3 gallons of RO/DI (I have the di filter making it the same as the other di) and .33 gallons of my well water (this makes my end product sit 5.7-5.8ph with no additional adjustments, have to play with your own combo) then since I’m mixing 3.33g batches I add 11g part A, 3.5 g MS (ES), and 7 g part B. In that order. Ensuring both part A and magnesium sulfate are fully disolved before adding the B.
Thanks. Bookmarking this.
Not easier for the first 6 weeks of my grow dude. I’ll confess I also add Epsom salts every watering and silica and Recharge once a week. But thats it for untill I flip the light. I also get the plants on they’re 2 day schedule from the get go. I don’t water to runoff, so I stay away from root rot as well that way which happens to alot of people unknowingly, when overwatering. I get bushy plants and lots of tops by the time I flip, with a bit of training and topping. Was using Tribus but its kinda of $$. So I’m back to Great White and Recharge.
When I hit flower I’m almost the same as you…Jacks every watering till the end. I found that less is more with the weed and for me!!
But… Two months veg… vs this barely 2-3 week…
That was today after removing 1/3rd of the vegetation.
That was it. literally 18 days ago. Fully documented. Like 12-16in tall. Leaves barely over the outside of pot.
Don’t get me wrong. I love the ease of soil. For sure. But coco returns the less work investment 3 fold. Since all my ingredients are consistent. I don’t make pH adjustments. Yes, I check them. But since it’s the same every single time. With a slight variable in my well water. It still always lands in the appropriate range.
Here she is 39 days ago. Just a sapling. So she was flipped 11 days after only having two nodes (one by my count, the single leaf “nodes” are not nodes).
She sprouted aug 4th. Seriously. Anyone having success in soil. Will blow their own mind in coco.
I’m with you @Budz I love my canna coco and Jacks combo. And I enjoy watering the girls everyday. Gives me time to really check them out and catch things before they’re an issue.
Sorry… it was a typo.
Point is that I’m sure peat works as a growing medium, but the impact on the bogs where it grows is pretty devastating.
I’m not trying to preach…. But just to clarify the point, see below.
From this article: For horticultural use, the extraction of peat requires the removal of a bog’s living surface to reach the partially decomposed layers beneath. It grows at a mere sixteenth of an inch a year, and its mining removes layers that take centuries to develop.
This is a big thing here in the UK. There is a big drive towards using your own compost as opposed to buying stuff in

Everyone has the second set of leaves except the Runtz.
I do believe that I have a Gary, there was only just the one Runtz seed, I hope I’m not already down to 5.
They were planted last Wednesday, all sprouted by Thursday. When do they officially start veg?
I think it’s when they get that set of leaves😀
Oh boy you gotta a Gary? Well I’m not going to say what to do but you know I stuck by my Gary’s side
I can see why more experienced growers don’t mess with Garys though, as I sure don’t think I got much yield for all the love and attention I gave her
