DB Cooper's Blue weed grow

Hi all, new to the forum, but it have been reading up for awhile now. I purchased the blue weed mix pack here at ilgm. This is my second grow and am hoping to learn from some of the issues I had on my first grow.

My setup is a 4x2 mars tent with a mars hydro sp3000 led. 4in AC infinity fan. This is in a basement room that is 5’6" x7’6 x6’10" High.

I soaked 2 blue dream, 1 blue cheese, and 1 blue haze seeds in distilled water on 5-13. Planted seeds on 5-16 into a solo cups with ff light warrior with 1" of ff ocean forest in the bottom. I used dechlorinated tap water that is pH down to 6.5.
Here are some pics from yesterday…

So the cheese seed was just barely cracked when I planted it while the others had a bit of a tap Root showing. It hasn’t sprouted so I soaked another seed yesterday. This one just barely cracked now after 24 hours and not sure if I should wait any longer to plant it into its own Solo cup. @Dennis62

I dropped 15 seeds back on the 2nd and my latest “pops” were around 4.5 days after they hit the soil.

Damn you got the blues brother

I grew out a blue cheese auto seed from crop king seed and was good smoke.but man the smell was horrible. Smelld like nasty dirty sweaty gym socks for sure. The cheese weeds most have the smell like that both i grew have the funky smell but great hight. Be prepared for a stinky plant. Good thing all the others smell so good lol.

That sounds delightful :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I got the mix pack because I didn’t want just one strain, and wanted a sativa and an indica. Let’s hope the ilgm cheese is quite so funky as the seed bank you got yours from!

So today I noticed I already have a couple fungus gnats in the tent. My last grow I bought SF nematodes. While they did work I would prefer to have something I can have on hand all the time.

I’m thinking about trying something I can mix in with the soil. I would like to avoid spraying the plant with neem oil.

On my last grow I planted the seeds on ff ocean blend. This time around I used ff light warrior with 1in of ocean blend at the bottom.

My nutes are general organics, when should I start feeding at at what strength?

Have you met @Dbpooper ? I thought you were him at first haha. Nice setup. Best of luck

Get mosquito bites, you can sprinkle them on the soil and forget about them. They are available at your favorite gardening supply big box store or you can order them. A little goes a long way.

They come in lots of sizes. You don’t need to spend $30

@CMichGrower thanks! I have heard of them before and I will pick some up at a nearby store.

Hi @Randy_Marsh yes I’ve been looking at your grow to get some tips. Been learning as much as I can before getting this next grow started.

Update…my 1st cheese seed still hasn’t sprouted. After 48 the soak I planted another cheese seed into a ff light warrior solo cup. Not quite as full as the others so I can add a little more soil as the seedling the grows. Soil was pre moistened with 6.5 dechlorinated tap water.

I did notice the 3 seedlings all have a little lean to them. Any ideas why? The mars hydro sp3000 led has been at 40% at 26" from the seedlings. I increased it to 50% and 24". The 24in is what the manual suggests.

I would say they are leaning since they got a lil tall ,and the top might be heavier , add a lil mount to get them straight , increase light lil by lil if they stretching they definitely can handle more light

@PurpNGold74 i thought same thing maybe just changed the p to a c lol. Do u have a ppm meter if so usually nutes in soil last 3 to 5 weeks sometimes more depending on how much u water blah blah blah. If u have a ppm meter and do a run off test and if lower ppm in soil than whats called for then u start to add say ur in late veg should be say 900ppm and ur runoff is 720 its time to start feeding and get the ppm up to a good number u can usually start to tell by leaf looks getting dull green colors or looking limp ect maybe even a few dying. Just like an outside garden but watching numbers and feeding friendly nites

I second the mosquito bits. just a few per sq inch. Doesn’t kill the gnats but will kill them at the larval stage. They also just dont like going around the soil after you have soaked them in after a few waterings.
