When you move from solo cups to final resting place
Bury some of the excess stem that developed and they’ll be fine, until then prop it up with what ever works (pipe cleaners, wire, popsicle sticks) just make sure it won’t damage plants

Good point Worm, I always bury that stem 3/4 or so. Mm, plant stand strong

@Mark0427 I’d like to see you do the journal. I was thinking about going with the Skittles myself. Maybe next time get the sweet candy mix pack.
Yes I do have a PPM meter but have just been spraying the top with water. I will get a reading when I do my first real watering.

@Mr_Wormwood and @StonedCold13 The first seeds I filled with soil a little too much and forgot to leave room to fill more soil in after the seedling comes up. Remember to do it on this second cheese seed that I sprouted which I hope will work out nice so they can all be transplanted around the same time.

@Randy_Marsh Here they are with a little training wire to help nudge them up one of them didn’t really need it. Did this on Friday but I just now got the chance to post.
The one on the left is still leaning a little bit and the leaves aren’t looking so great. The other one is working on its second set of true leaves now!

Looks like you’re getting off to a good start. A touch leggy at the moment but I’m sure they will fill out. How high is your light from seedlings right now?

Loving the little kick stand!

Right now right now I am at 24 in from the top of the seedlings and at 50% dimmer. Been nudging it up about 5% in every day like @Randy_Marsh
suggested a couple days ago.

Ready for lift off ,

Woke up to a surprise today. The first cheese seed that I planted actually is starting to sprout! So is the second cheese seed that I planted.
I was just about to toss out the first seed, let’s see how it turns out.

I was able to get some of these at the local home improvement store not the bits that I wanted but I will crush them up and use them.

Gave my three seedlings there first watering today. Here are my water numbers.
Straight from tap pH 9.1 69 PPM 139 EC.
After let to sit 24+ hrs to dechlorinate and pH adjusted 6.5 92 PPM 163 EC.
Run off pH 5.85 PPM 573.
Had to give up today on the 1st cheese seedling. It tried, but never really fully broke ground.

Since my last watering 3 days ago I’ve noticed that my first set of leaves of become a bit twisted. I also just noticed today that I have a little bit of green mold starting to form on the top of the soil. Too much water I guess I’m now got small fan running nearby to keep the air circulating. Didn’t have it running before because I thought the seedlings were too small and wouldn’t handle it.
Any ideas on how best to deal with the mold? Should I just scrape it off the top?

Seems fine to me. The leaves twisting could be anything. PH perhaps.
Does the soil have good drainage? If that bothers you grab a little mist bottle with peroxide. It’s really not a big deal though. Make sure you maintain humidity levels.

I dont see cuts in the solo cup. The water has to drain somewhere or itll keep rotting

I melted about a half dozen slots in the bottom corner with a lighter. Also put a couple more an inch or two higher up. Was just thinking this morning maybe I should add more?

That looks good, as long as it can drain properly you should be fine with that

Always better drainage. I drill 5 holes in the bottom and about 16 around the sides. And add perlite to my soil. More drainage the better in my book.

More frequent waterings is the ONLY drawback

My plants have continued to twist and look droopy. Seems like overwatering, but I haven’t watered twice in the last week. It’s been two weeks since they broke ground I fed them today.
General organics at less then half strength for week 1 seedlings. I can post feed chart and the ppm numbers I recorded if anyone finds it useful.

Just put a whole bunch more holes in tonight as @PurpNGold74 suggested. Thanks, btw!

I had a few with that sad ugly leaf thing going this round. She grew out of it.

Nice holes!
