Negative on the remove the shell thing! Simply put a few drops of water on it until it pops off on its own!
Hey MrPeat if that little seed popped out of its husk in nature and landed in a pile of leaf litter, which way do you think it would land? the seed is designed to lay on its side! In reality it doesnt even matter because normally the root aims for the center of the planet!
Like really, when someone places seed in a moist paper towel do they aim the pointy part up or down? Chances are the little bastards are laying on their sides!
Some water and tweezers, had it happen to this little lady. Excited about this grow. Purple Lemonade
Leaves opening on up this morning after the surgery yesterday
Does it look stretched or is that normal for this stage?
Maybe build up the soil at the base of the stem. How far away is your light source?
It does look like a bit of stretch due to light being a bit too high. Otherwise looks like you pulled her through!! Good job!
I relocated it into a grow tent this morning I piled a lil extra Happy Frog around the stem.
No worries. I use a very powerful light in my mother/propagation room. I was unfamiliar with the light so I started it a little too weak resulting in some stretch similar to yours. I finally got the height and intensity dialed in and they are staying more squat now. When I transplanted from solo cups to 2 gallon nursery pots, I just transplanted a little deeper and back filled the pots. Problem solved. They look great today at day 16 from seed.
