Curing a harvest

Hello. I’m a few hours away from a harvest and wanted to ask something. I know it’s recommended to hang freshly cut plants so they can start drying. I’d like to know if I were to put my plants into jars with a Boveda (Humiditypack) packs can I skip the air drying? I’m not in a rush to dry this plant in fact the one I’m currently curing seems to be getting better and better.

Thanks

They have too much moisture to put directly into jars right away. Hang until your smaller stems crack when bent. Then do whatever manicure they need and jar. Burp regularly and you should be solid.

I harvest and trim “wet”. I find it easier to trim all the sugar leaves when they’re sticking out. If there are too many plants to trim within a day I’ll put the branches in a 5 gal bucket full of water, ( like flowers in a vase). This keeps them hydrated and upright until I get to them.
Then, as dbrn32 said, I hang to dry in a dark area until the stems snap. Then trim the buds and jar.

I use boveda 62% packs if the buds are stored more than a month or two.

I appreciate the advice. I’ve got her trimmed up and hanging as we speak.

I saved all the trimmings, isn’t there something I can do with them? I only had 1 plant, so not sure if there’s enough trim to mess with. So I’ll save what I’ve got until I know if it’s something to keep or return to the compost pile.

On your left over sugar leaves you can cure them and make keif or hash of freeze them and wash with everclear and strain and make vape juice or immerse in butter for cannabis butter. Press them for rosin or wax. Save them i put mine in a Ziploc bag and put it in the freezer.
Please follow the waiting till the stem cracks or snaps don’t go early i learned that the hard way came home from work and nothing but white mold in 2 jars this point is where patience really pays off you will really be amazed at what a 2 1/2 month cure will do to your weed. Hope this helps you check out the edibles section on here it will give you lots of ideas for your trimmings

So many choices, I would like to make vape juice. I’ve seen so many different ways to make this and all the other things you mentioned that I’m overwhelmed. I need a 5th grade level set of instructions and list of what I need.
I am fine with waiting for a proper cure. There’s truth in the saying patients is a virtue.

You know… I’ve read that all over the place and this question never occurred to me until just now:
Is it the main stem (item A below) everyone is referring to snapping, or the small stem (item B below) that all the individual buds are on, that is connected to the main stem?

The small ones. You don’t need them to physically snap off. But you at least want that little crack when bent, and the elasticity gone.

If you go straight to a jar with a boveda they may grow mold. The boveda does not aggressively control humidity. If it was a faster humidity controller then you could do that…
