I have been reading in different area’s about clipping fans on to the lights to keep cool, I have a clip on for the 1500WT light and I have a cooling fan that I used for a back up in my Wedryer to cool my 650R. They are keeping the temps down

@Bunger64 Pics didnt upload. Im not sure if you can but is the drive removable on that model light? Thats where i would start and just place it outside your grow area
Mount the ballast for your light outside of the tent.
My 650Rs driver is mounted directly to the light, My new light came yesterday that one has a gap and doesn’t even warm up interesting on how the companys all have their little fixes. i guess i can look into cord extensions not sure about that.
I guess they both produce some heat maybe to my advantage during light hrs. 28 degrees outside, inside White Room 72 ceiling 68 wall, lights have been on an hr. Just curious
Ambient aìr is 76
I just used 16 gauge wire I got from Home Depot and ran it between the driver outside the tent to the light.
So i have some skills at different things everthing is in weather tight connections didnt want to disturb anything, I will look into it I’m sure I can even find a video or 2 to show me, thanks for the quick response
If nothing else you can ask @dbrn32 for help or contact HLG via email or phone call i hear they are very helpful
I think those of us that watch closely like air tenmps at canopy around 80f when using led lights. There us info available as to why, but basically because leds don’t heat leaf surface temps like hid bulbs do, so old school temp guidelines don’t really apply.
I’m a little out of touch with which drivers hlg is currently using, but your 650r driver may have a separate 5 or 12vdc output. If it does you could use this to run a pc styled fan directly from driver without any additional wiring. It’s probably not necessary, but you know, if it’s something you wanted to do.
Check with your light manufacturer for extension cords to move the driver outside the tent.

HYPHOTONFLUX DC Extension Cord Compatible with HPF3000 & HPF4000 and PRO-480 Led Grow Lights
I’m just fact finding, looking to see if any one has had an issue or what they are doing to cool if any besides moving the driver, I know they generate some heat.
