That has honestly been a question in mind for a lil bit now. If autos have the same light restrictions as photos, when it comes to darkness. I figured I would just try to make sure it stayed dark when it supposed to and maintain the timing. Play it safe I guess. My light timer stopped working so now I’m manually cutting them on and off. I have been a hour or so late cutting them on/off here and there. Maybe that’s the issue, who knows.
Autoflowers don’t give a about light leaks. I’m glad you got rid of it and you feel better. Congratulations you just amputated the girls VaJJ
Try to practice a little patience when new things are developing and let them develop. I’m not saying you’re impatient and I understand your concerns 100%
You wouldn’t want your mom and dad chasing you around cutting your nuts off cuz you don’t have any hair on them.
You did exactly what you were supposed to do you did a post on it. Your plant looks good I wish you the best
The few autos I have done were on 18/6 all the way seed to harvest.
thanks! Patience is a work in progress daily over here
She looks good and thick! Hoping to get there, this grow probably not but maybe the next one.
@Indacut solid advice and agree with this awesome Grow Sis
Thanks!
@Lostgirl how long do we be patient for?! . I just looked it over and I see 2 new spots. Thinking about what you said I want to wait just in case I did cut the wrong thing off last time. I was told the female calyx points upwards and these are. And theres plenty more white hairs coming out but not from the the lil ball spots they still looked closed up. I hope I’m not getting on your nerves!
It’s very difficult being on this end of a very cheap Android cell phone to determine if you have calyx or pollen sacks.
I’m going to ask you to post the most recent pictures as clear of pictures as you can with several of them I’m going to tag another person his eyes aren’t that great but he knows what the hell he’s doing.
Or maybe they do have hair, idk I cant tell if these are the same as the others. Idk what I’m looking at
a calyx is usually more teardrop shaped and a pollen ball is more like an egg on a stalk.
best pic I could find
I seen that picture when I was searching Google. I was thinking ok mines arent stacked so I might be safe. Then the intrusive thoughts took over and then it was like well maybe they just aint grown out yet. They have a slightly pointed tip so thats tear drop.
Then as I look at his pictures, mines look like his too minus the coating. Seeing someone else plant that looks like mine, makes me feel better. So I’m just in a panic for no reason
That definitely wouldve been better than the foil I was trying to use
There is some nuance to sexing, especially early on that I just don’t know how to explain. It comes from experience and and having made the mistake a few times. Even then it’s still hard to tell when they are little.
Assuming it’s good, I want to say I read a response you made on someone else post about feeding bloom nutes. Not to start till it’s stopped growing vertically. I feel like all the reading on the growth phases I did prior to actually growing anything, is not serving me any justice. Now that I’m in action, I’m still googling and going back to sites I saved. And coming here, which is better because its actually ppl to give Q and A to the not specifics of online articles. So thank you!
That is kinda the idea. For veg we want lots of nitrogen to support vertical growth, as in more nodes. When she starts flowering that vertical growth doesn’t just stop. It will keep stretching for several weeks and is often when you will see the fastest growth. They still need some P and K early on. As the stretching slows they will start to produce more buds and the buds will fatten up. This part requires much less N and more P and K. I think the general wisdom is start with half the strength of the manufacturers feed chart then you can adjust from there as you need.
It’s one thing to read about growing, but another thing actually doing it. Every plant will be a learning experience. Yes, it is nice to be able to ask questions and clarify some of the finer points that your average article or youtube video doesn’t cover.
