In my experience, the first two or three weeks can be tough to get things right. Especially for newer growers. The plants are at their most vulnerable and even small mistakes can cause stunting. The good news is that cannabis is pretty resilient and can still produce good smoke even after a rough first few weeks. I had one last round that I broke the tap root in the first transplant. She was hurting for a while but at the end she still produced 1/2LB. of great smoke. She was a photo though.
From what I gathered and been told from post on this forum, is that photos rebound better than autos due to the short life of autos. That’s when the experience part come into play. I’ve seen some really nice autos on here. On my next go around I’m going to start in the final pot, and now that I have the proper light hopefully it will start off on the rt foot. I did snip off those bottom leafs that were yellowing, that’s ok rt being that they were older? Also is it normal to have a scent at this point? Nothing super strong but it’s definitely got a lil aroma. I didnt think I would smell anything till it was about to flower.
Yup you got it there. I grow photos because I like to try different things each grow so photos give me that flexibility. I have seen some very nice autos, no doubt. Vegging plants do have a smell of their own. When they start producing some trichs they will start developing their flowering aroma.
Ok cool. I was starting to think it was going left and was done growing taller.
They will keep stretching until a few weeks into flower. I would say they still have time to grow into decent plants.
I’m sorry to say it, but yes that does look like a pollen ball.
I thought the seeds from here were supposed to be feminized. Can you clip them or what should I do now?
I usually mist them with some RO water to try to contain the pollen and gently pick it off with tweezers. If a plant is stressed enough even a feminized plant will hermie and grow balls. Sometimes it will just be one or two, but I’ve never had one hermie that early. I’m not too sure what to expect there.
I wonder what I did to stress it. The only change was the repot and that was just a couple days ago. Once you took them off your plant continued on like it should? I’m going to clip them and keep a eye out for any new ones. Rt now its only on two stems. The other plant is fine thankfully.
@Lostgirl do you have any additional insight on my 3wk hermie auto?
It’s a tough call. If you look there’s what appears to be (3) three calyx and 2 of the 3 have what looks like hair growing out of them (normal) the third does not have a hair that I see.
I definitely don’t see any nanners. I understand your concern. I kind of like your idea. Carefully remove it flush it down the toilet as it’s definitely not open yet. I would definitely spray it down with water. I keep surgical scalpels in my tents first aid kit LOL (yes I have a plant first aid kit)
I would definitely consider that as my option to go with. I would keep a very close eye. Plants this young just starting to develop yet are still underdeveloped can trick us in different ways (like this)
I wish I had a magic answer but I don’t. I’m not totally confident either way. Yet I would go with your recent suggestion of cutting it keep an eye on it.
Sorry I couldn’t be much more help than that. I do wish you the best
Lostgirl is right, Im not positive either. I just feel its better to remove it than wait to be sure and risk them opening. If it is a calyx removing shouldnt hurt. Im not sure with autos. Its usually light leaks that have caused hermies for me. One or two I trimmed until they hermie just to see how much it took. It takes a lot of pruning pretty often.
@Lostgirl I did just that, misted it with some water and removed them. I checked both plants like twice just to make sure. Thank yall!!
@Lostgirl I guess I was too focused in on the pollen balls, that I initially didnt even see those hairs till I went to make the cuts. Then you mentioned it I had to go back to the pic lol. You said that’s normal at this point. Does it mean anything that my other one doesnt have any yet and it 2wks older?
Personally I’ve got a lot of patience. I understand this is nothing to play with. I truly believe it’s too early for a plan to hermie. If it were me I’d simply wait. But again that’s me.
If you’re talking one sack with no hair by all means cut it off you’ll sleep better. I hate to be the person to tell you to wait and then it hermied and pollinate your tent. Again I don’t think this is the case I think you got premature growth. I’m going to tag another person that I fully trust on this @OGIncognito
Great advice. I’m in the same boat. I’ve never seen a hermie that early, but I also don’t want to see anyone pollenated if it could be avoided. I’m also too blind to the hairs there. Sorry I can’t be more helpful @Indacut.
Definitely so, I felt a lot better after getting rid of it. Since @Gl1tch mentioned light leaks I’m going to check that, to see where it could be.
Idk if that’s a problem for autos. To my knowledge they don’t care about light cycle, but again that’s not my wheelhouse.
