Hi its me again! I just finished harvesting my newest grow and i thought i was doing well but it seems like my buds aren’t as condense and solid as if you were buying from a dispensary as shown in picture. My bud always comes out fluffy with lots of space and loose leaves. Can someone give me tips on how i can get mor condensed buds?
Nothing better than money spent on lighting.
Like @oldmarine said, lights are probably the most important aspect of how your flower turns out… I mean it’s all important, but more than likely a light upgrade will take you up a level. What are you currently running?
Yep, lighting is probably most important. Proper nute levels help too.
@MidwestGuy @Dankloud @oldmarine well i think it has to be the nutes I’ve been having issues growing because of the nutes and I actually just bought new lights for this grow and they are 10x better!
Do you have a PPM meter? It will help you manage your nute levels.
Spider Farmer are making decent lights now with their SF series.
I recently moved to a bigger…badder…light during flower. And mine are more dense with no other noticable change in the process. Some other things might apply for sure, but I would start with light as noted.
Sorry…just noticed you upgraded the light already…
I don’t know what to tell you. I feed at half strength with a flood/drought style of watering. My only bud development improvement came from better lighting.
Quick question, how old were these plants when you harvested? How long were they in flower?
They are auto flowers so they didnt take long to grow from me planting them in the ground on total was about 13 weeks
I have a tds/ec metter but never used it and dont know how. Is that the same as a ppm meter?
Better lights is better. But the question then becomes what size tent are you working with, how many plants, what power level on the lights and how far from the canopy? An awesome light can still produce meh results if it’s not enough light for the space, or is too far away or not cranked up to 100% power.
As far as nutes go, I dunno. A generic flower booster with little or no nitrogen and heavy on the potassium and phosphorus is the best rec I can give - if you’re skimping on those during the flowering stage, the buds won’t stack the same as a well-fed plant.
How long were they in flower?
I have about 7 auto flowers in a 4x4 tent and i make sure the lights are 30 in. Away at all times. I am switching up nutrients on my next grow that i start this week to see if i get better results because each grow i have severe nute burn on at least 2 plants. I have been using advanced nutrients but i am switching to Jacks because i heard they were highly recommended
6-8 weeks
That light is fine for a few plants (maybe 3 or 4)
You should be in the 8 weeks or more range for flowering. The last few weeks, the buds really pack on.
Spend the money on better lights like HLG.
That’s what I wondered, myself. If a 450 watt isn’t going to fall short of fully flowering a 4x4 that’s packed. Not a bad light but maybe a tad light for that amount of flowering power. couldn’t help myself, sorry.
