This one is developing some grey stuff in the new growth. How concerned should I be. I’m outdoors, Notheast so rain and humidity can be an issue.
That’s looks like more of a purple hue coming out in new leafs I actually have the same thing coming out in my gorilla cookies right now outdoors in the northeast, I wouldn’t be concerned it’s normal. During flower when you find fuzzy grey matter in the buds that’s when you should be concerned. If you are still on the fence about what it could be you can mix a small amount of hydrogen peroxide and water and spray at sundown to kill any mold spores
Hmmm…, maybe. But this is almost granular, and it’s definitely not IN the leaf. I can sweep it off basically. I’ll keep an eye on it. If it persists another day or two then I’ll try that peroxide solution. Thanks
I would make up a little peroxide water mix and spray the L out of the whole plant and any other plants you might have. I use a quart size hand sprayer and put like 2 tbs of peroxide in plain water. The mix will not hurt the plants so even if it’s just the plants color coming out you’re good. The peroxide will kill some of the good fungi and bacteria too. So you can cover the soil with some plastic or just add some micro life a couple days after treatment to help build the goodies back in your dirt.
Peroxide: the brown bottle stuff you prolly have in your medicine cabinet to pour on a cut
Micro life: whatever you are currently using is good. Recharge, Probiotics, Billions, Fish , etc
Edit: of course I didn’t read down before answering I see you already heard my answer
oops
lol. Appreciate the advice. I’ve got six plants out there. I just looked them over. It’s starting to appear on 3 of them. Whatever it is, it’s definitely not pigment. It brushes off.
@Caligurl is really good with natural ways of fighting different issues. She might have a better idea on how to get rid of that I live in the desert so high humidity problems are few and far in-between… if you know what I mean
@Tmac845 this is my gorilla cookies
Looks exactly like what I’ve got going on
@Tmac845 its normal I wouldn’t be too concerned at all
Ok. Thanks. But what is it?
I don’t think that’s normal… not if you can brush it away. Try the H2O2, if that doesn’t work, I use PureCrop 1. It is both an insecticide and fungicide. Get control of that now. It may be too late for those buds if it’s gone systemic but don’t give up… .just either solution.
Normal coloration would not appear to flak off
It definitely brushes off. Will try the hydrogen peroxide spray and see what happens. I can’t believe no one recognizes this symptom!
I get that growing every time I spray milk. Did you foliar spray milk recently for lactobacillus and Ca+?
No. The only foliar spray I’ve used was neem oil, and one application of captain jacks dead bug almost 4 weeks ago.
I found this article on what they are calling sooty mold. Not sure this is what you have, but it’s worth a look. I had to screenshot it because it’s from a seed company and not ok to link it on here. There’s enough info on the picture for you to find the article
Thanks. I’ve been keeping an eye on it. Im hoping it might be pigment. There is some Bruce Banner in the genes. This is my first time with darker colored plants. Does the pigment start developing as they move into flower? And is it possible it is a secretion first, before it is actually in the plant matter?
I am watching some plants for a friend and just noticed the exact same thing on one. Comes off on my finger. (not quite budding yet) I will take some peroxide over next run. It only seemed to be on one of the plants.
These are clones of my current grow and am not seeing them on my plants.
Have you looked at it through a microscope? That could tell you more
I haven’t. But it seems to be pigmenting the leaves now. My first time dealing with darker colored plants. Is it possible the pigment starts briefly as a secretion before it actually stays within the plant matter?
