Coco/Peat proper pH

Hello all!

As a complete beginner, I have gone through and purchased a substrate named ‘Ciemhus Grow’
product_ff97ddc2

Now, my question is:

Given that the stated pH is 6.9 on the back label - should I aim to pH my water around that figure when it comes to feeding/watering?

The reason I am asking this (potential dumb) question is that I’ve read an article that stated that peat in general is quite acidic. Also, I have recently discovered that coco is regarded as a soil-less medium (with pH 5.5 - 6.5) - which only adds up to this dilemma that I’m facing

I would appreciate if I could get any assistance regarding this from you veteran growers.

Thank you for your time.

I recommend 5.8 to 6.0.

This is the sweet spot. That said: your medium is adulterated with worm castings. Which in my experience bumps the PH up toward 7.0. Once that is depleted (it’s a great source of N) you will need to supplement. Use the above values and highly advise using a TDS meter to monitor runoff.

Thank you both for your replies @Covertgrower @Myfriendis410 !

Oh, I did not know that worm castings have that much of an effect on pH.
Yes, I have already ordered the Flora trio and shall definitely be purchasing a TDS meter soon.

Thanks again for your help!
