Co2 and PROPER amount of lighting. Experienced help PLEASE!

So I understand that co2 isn’t worth a dime with out the correct lighting. The wife and I are looking at leds and the par numbers, well just where do I need to be to make the investment for this Co2 system.(its bottled) looking at eco farm leds. Seems like best bang for the buck imo. I look forward to hearing back.

Cheers!

Correct. PAR levels to aid in CO2 uptake should be above 1,000 PPFD. Plants will require an increase in nutrient (PPM) loads as well, particularly cal-mag, which is needed for plants experiencing a lot of light. Temperature should be a little higher as well.

There is only a couple here that uses co2 , if not it’s like a co2 bag , first of all it’s not just lighting, basically you must have a overall good if not great environment , medium lighting etc for it to be worth it

Yes this is just something I’m ready to start playing around with. Having fun learning.

Only reason I’m asking about the lighting is because I’m considering making switch to led. While doing that I’m going to make sure I have lights to support what I may or may not do in future.

Hey thanks for that link!!

How many ounces per sq ft are you harvesting currently, @Tentnewby1983 ?

Nice work👍

30 ounces dried flower?

Look at Quantum Boards !!! much better than convential LED’s ( Budget Led’s been using them now for 3 years and can’t believe the yields)

Coco and perlite… no more ,it was a bit more than I anticipated. I’ve got a ebb table full of monster crops. I let veg to long.

CO2 to be effective will need higher light values than with a conventional grow. But here’s a case of ‘unintended consequences’ as CO2 requires a sealed environment and high partial pressures. As a result, heat and humidity take a huge jump and needs to be rejected from the grow space, without losing CO2. The equipment needed to accomplish this is expensive and expensive to operate.

doesn’t co2 need to run at 1500ppm’s for whole space, other than co2 bottles there are some products that offer co2: Green Pad, Exhale, TNB Naturals, make your own to be honest they dont’ work. TBN Natruals did a test in a 2by2 tent and it got to 1500ppm,in the lonf run bottle co2 best

These are generally a waste of money. Compressed gas is the only way to do it. 1,000 ppm up is what is generally done and not 24/7.

@peachfuzz has some history with CO2: maybe he’ll weigh in.

This is what would be considered a highly technical grow.

I still want to know the specifics of @Tentnewby1983 ‘s yields. The return on CO2 enrichment is a percentage of your atmospheric CO2 returns.

It seems like your doing fine without it…
I use a propane co2 generator for a 10 x 14 flower room and still use hps air cooled hoods in order to pull it off , I have a special ducting setup that allows me to bring in outside air , though my hoods and then back outside in able to keep the room sealed during co2 gassing and when co2 is not in use a turn a couple of knobs and bring in freash air from one side of the room and through my hoods and back outside…
It’s pretty technical and was built this way just for this reason…
I was lucky enough to have been inside of many high tech grow rooms before I built mine…
My room was built for one reason from the very beginning of construction…
And if I do decide to run my co2 generator which isn’t very often, it’s only in the first 3 to 4 weeks of flower during the vigorous growth stage , after that I don’t really see a reason for it…
That’s just my personal perspective…
It’s alot of work and added cost for something that you probably don’t even need and won’t really give you the outcome that your expecting… :+1::wink::green_heart:
