Held off on doing full root-ball prunes a few days ago, & instead pruned below the net-pots. The one in the front will probably need it the soonest, though, as her runoff has some sulphur odor going on.
Ambient temps are getting colder, but the fluros are helping to keep the box stable.

Watered-up after having gone around 48 hours without attention:
Thermpro of the past week:
Did some top pruning & root-pruning a couple days ago, & refreshed the top layers of lava. Held off on main root ball prunings again:

Been busy over the past month or so, but did full root-ball prunes on everything over the past couple or three weeks, starting with the one in the middle. I didn’t take as much off of it, & it has been putting roots out the bottom for the past week:
I cut the others back more significantly to slow them down & to see how much I could get away with, & they are just starting to come back online. The one in the back left corner is starting to send a couple roots out the bottom, still waiting on the other two to see if they want to live or die.

All are still growing:
Ambient conditions around the box are moving around a little, so sometimes the box sits a little below the exhaust fan setpoint, & the RH sits & coasts a little above my RH setpoint. If something happens like the heat turns on, the box will start cycling more.
The plant on the left of the wire rack got root pruned below the net pot a couple days ago, & the rest will get that as needed, probably soon. They’ve all been getting root-pruned below the outer-pot & also defoliated & pruned up top a few times already. Two will probably get sent over to the main cab soon, probably the one second from left, & the one on the far right. I reduced those down to eight tops each, & might go down to six each soon. After flowering those, I might send a single plant over (the one with the five tops), launch some new beans, & keep the lone clone around in case I don’t have anything else ready to go into the main cab.

Everybody happy: I moved the clone back over to the right, & the two on the left will be heading over to the Main Cab once it is ready.
Thermpro of past week: Last Tuesday & Wednesday the main breaker was shut off a few times to do some work, which is why the temp & RH was moving around a lot Wednesday on the graph. Also, if I let the ambient temps get low, the box will have trouble maintaining temp, which can be seen yesterday on the graph (between the lines for Monday-Tuesday). The plants didn’t seem to care.

Not much going on in here, & they are at that stage where they have enough roots but not too big & thirsty to where I can leave them be for 36 to 48 hours at a time.
I raised the fixture one chain link (last one), since the two plants on the left are getting a little tall. Plus I keep forgetting to remove that corkscrew training wire from the plant in the middle. Now maybe I will remember.

Two on the left still waiting patiently for the main cab to open up. I check on these & water every 36 hours for now.
All are probably due for minor root-pruning below the net-pots, & some fresh lava on top.

Pruned the tops & the roots, & refreshed the top-cover of lava of the two remaining plants:
The root-balls looked about the same, although the clone (plant on the right) hasn’t had a root pruning since I pruned all of the root-balls, while the other plant has had one root pruning. This clone has always been a little slower to grow than all of the other plants.
Trimmed up: I’ll go back to watering these every 24 hours for a little while, until they grow back a bit.

These two are still hanging around, just watered with the first batch made from my new filter. They are back on the 36-48 hour check-in schedule.
Thermpro from the last week: The big narrow drops in temp are from having the door open. The big wide drops are from the ambient temps dropping then.
Also washed the humidifier & filled with 000 RO water the last time I was in there.

Noticed that my oscillating fan motor was sporadically running sluggishly or not running at all. Looking at the setup my intuition said to replace the usb power cable & see what happens, which made the problem go away. I put the old cable back in & the problem returned. I put the new cable back in & the problem went away. Everything else checked out, & no more issues have turned up since then. First guess & didn’t have to grab my meter. Not sure why I suspected the cable, but I’ve heard about them just dying out of nowhere. Not sure what is wrong with it, but I know that at least some usb cables have resistor(s) in them, so maybe a failing resistor sporadically presenting too much resistance was the source of the issue here.

Pruned up top & root-pruned below the net pots, & will check in & water every 24h for the next couple/ few days until they can go back to 36-48h check-ins. I left about 1/4" of roots hanging down.

Added a couple more blocks of wood beneath the sensors to bring them closer to the level of the tops:

Going to be sending the plant on the right over to the Main Cab soon, & the plant on the left will be getting a full root prune soon, & will stay in here as a back-up in case I have problems with my next run of seeds.
Getting warmer out, so I swapped out the 39w 6.4k fluro tubes for my 10w 5k LED conversion tubes, & dropped about 2degF out of the cab. It’s also about 50 ppfd brighter at the same height. (Ignore the big dip in RH, I forgot to refill the humidifier the last time I was in there.)

Ended up doing just a root prune below the net cup, & a top prune, as well as replacing the top layer of lava with clean lava to the plant on the left. Plant on the right got a little clean up along the stalks today, & will get fresh lava & a root prune below the net cup before heading into the Main Cab tomorrow, or maybe the next day.
Thermpro of the past week:
Plant on the left is getting around 200 ppfd, plant on the right is seeing around 280 ppfd.

Not much going on in here, which is a good thing. This one will need a full root-ball prune soon, as pH runoff is pushing higher & needs multiple flushes to knock it down. Usually I’ll do it soon based on that. Or if I start to smell the runoff turning foul, then it’s definitely time to do it.

Still just the lone clone hanging out in here. I gave her a topping, & she still could use a full root-ball pruning, but I’ve been lazy & have been just flushing her with a couple extra cups of solution when watering every 36h or so, in order to knock down the pH. The runoff is not smelling so I can get away with this for now, although it wastes some solution.
Thermpro over the past week: The big temp spike is me having the door open to tend to the plant, which can cause some temporary heat-soak.
Thinking I’ll drop some more seeds in three weeks or so, & if this one keeps living, I’ll hang on to it until I don’t see a need for it as a spare.

Did a root-prune below the net cup tonight, & did some topping the other day & damaged one, so chopped off the limb. I still keep putting off doing a full rootball prune, but it could probably use one.
Thermpro-Week:
Should be dropping seeds around now but decided to wait to see what was going on in the other cab. Also I have some things upcoming that will be keeping me busy for a minute, so, I might just plop this one into the Main Cab when it opens up & just not have a backup plant for when I do get around to dropping some seeds.
No worries.

Still alive: I gave it a little too much PPM after the last topping a couple days ago, but it should still continue to grow.
I’ll probably give it a full root-ball prune at the same time that I move it to the Main Cab. I could just trim any roots that need it outside of the net-pot & just drop it in there, but I think it might do better overall with a full root-ball prune.

Still hanging around:
Been letting the top leaves grow out since the Main Cab is basically ready to go, & I’m just taking a little break until I move it over.

Planning to bring this back in a few weeks with some regs from Fleur Du Mal Seeds. Interested to see if the nanners might go away with the fems…
