Fleur de Mal Seeds:
I just moved some around & forget what order they’re in now, (they are labeled), but there’s one each of Cindy88, Ortega, Sweet Tooth, African Queen, Indiana Bubblegum(f3), & Janice.
Thermpro, past week:
Heading into Week 5 & starting to check for sex, nothing yet. Hoping to get at least one female to send to the Main Cab, & I’ll keep any other females in here for the next run.
Setup is basically the same as before, although I forgot to set my net-pots into the pots before planting, no biggie. I’ll transplant any females into them once any show.

Pic with strain names:
Sweet Tooth runoff started to smell foul, so I did a root-prune & into the net-pot, & flushed with fresh nutes with a little extra SM-90 & H2O2. It had roots growing from the bottom up the sides, & the rest of them are probably similar. The others runoff still smells good so I’ll leave them until they show (unless the runoff starts to smell before they show), then fully prune & netpot any other fems. Having the net pots in there in the first place avoids a lot of this because I can lift it out & root-prune whatever is coming out of the net pots, without tearing up anything. But putting them in there is a newer thing for me, so I forgot already to put them in there. Sweet tooth looks OK so far, I figured it would look clamped down & complaining by now. I did more disturbing to the root ball than I wanted to.
Thermpro, 1 hour today:
First run in here with my new temp gun. I’ve been starting to use it for a few days, now that the leaves are big enough to shoot easily. With the emissivity set to .98, the leaf temps seem to climb to around half a degree under air temps until the exhaust kicks on, then they fall very quickly to around 75 or 76 as the exhaust runs, then they climb pretty quickly back up after the exhaust stops. I took a few individual measurements & let the box stabilize between them. I’m watch sweet tooth to see if it starts to act weird with higher leaf temps due to chopping the roots off, but so far it measured like the others & still looks ok in general.

There are definitely female preflowers on the Princess88 & Janice, & I think I see two hairs starting to emerge from the Bubblegum preflowers. I’d like to flower the B.G. next due to supposedly being able to handle humidity a little better.
The three on the left (the tallest & shortest plants in the box) are probably male. One has the ‘ball & claw’, & the other two need a little more time for me to tell for sure.

Males have been disposed of, only girls left:
Male roots: The lava has been reclaimed.
Got a little hotter & drier than usual for a couple hours in the cab after I took out the three males (less moisture being released overall) & also moved the exhaust fan sensor around slightly, until I got back in there to make a couple more adjustments at the end of the graph:
Tomorrow I plan to transplant the B.G. into a net-pot. I’ll try to comb out & prune any roots longer than the net-pot before I stick it in there, but I don’t want to hack up the root-ball too much. I’m hoping to send it over to the Main Cab by tomorrow night, unless there are any issues. I haven’t decided how I want to top &/or train it yet.
I plan to top the other two, leaving me with maybe eight cuttings that I’ll try to root in my cloner. I may not even keep any that root, but I have a couple things that I want to try with the cloner anyway, so may as well run it.
After I top the other two, I’ll let them recover for a couple days, then I’ll do a major root-prune on them & put them into net-pots & then back into the current pots to keep them going until I need them.

Setting up the cloner:
Trying some ‘stem shrouds’ on the six in the middle. I’ve seen someone mention this here not too long ago, but also I remember hearing about it on forums years ago & also trying it then, & it seemed to help. Back then I was using 1/2" fuel tubing cut about 2" long, & the roots seemed to like to grow more where the tube was covering the stem vs. them being more exposed. I made these by cutting out the centers of & attaching three foam cloning discs or whatever they are called together. I also left four singles at the ends, to see if they work better. I usually suck at cloning anyway, so they might all just die anyway. Not enough practice since cloning is the thing I have needed to do the least of, overall.
Chop chop, clones installed.
Added a couple points to the RH target, & still tinkering with the temp sensor to see if I can shave off a degree & get it to run between maybe 79.5 & 80.5 without causing the exhaust fan to run away.
The two remaining plants will get major root prunes & into net-pots before going back into the standard pots, probably tomorrow. Nutes have been cut in half for them now.

Princess 88 Rootball:
Janice looked about the same.
Princess after root-pruning:
Janice: I took more off of this one overall.
Planted into net-pots in standard pots:
Janice is on the left this time.
I misted the clones a few times yesterday as they would wilt, & again once this morning - but only a couple looked like they needed it. I’ll hit the one on the front right later tonight; since it’s the only one still wilting, when I go back in to add water to Janice & to swap out the cloner water. Those end spots don’t get as many bubbles as the center spots. I’ll probably be able to stop misting tonight.
Thermpro:
Cab got down to 78f after final exhaust fan adjustments last night. I turned my a/c down a degree also. 78f is fine, but the exhaust fan was running longer than I wanted (& I don’t want to turn the a/c down any cooler). A couple more adjustments to the fan target near the end of today & the temps should now run between 79.5 - 80f, without the exhaust fan running for too long.
