Clipping Fan leaves yes or no

would you clip off the leaves to light in to midddle of plants was it good or bad

@JohnSwan

You don’t clip off fan leafs. They are the life line of the plant. They act as solar panel’s feed from the light and feeding the plant energy. Just tie them back or what ever else you may think of ok

i clipped a lot already am i !@#$ed some say no some yes

@ JohnSwan maybe not, you have a pic of he plan you can post ?

Honestly, I concur with John, and Jorge Cerventas, leave your leaves on (except if yellow). And no, you’re not screwed, for you have just “slowed your plant down” by picking the leaves. Some of these grow videos on youtube are telling everyone to “lolipop” or strip off all the bottom leaves in order to give the upper part of the plant more energy? More light? Again, taking leaves off only slows growth and denies the rest of the plant great nutrient value which is contained in those leaves.

first grow was 2 plants, one trimmed and one not, and the yield on the one left alone was better. Scientific? No, but it just makes sense.

I think a little strategic fan leaf removal is okay if you have a plant that is so dense no light is getting into the plant or there are issues with mold or bud rot where air flow trumps sugar production. I removed a bunch of fan leaves yesterday, reducing sugar production but in so doing I exposed twice as much surface area of new leaves and growth to the light which I see as a net gain. And yes, I would have tucked if I could.
