Caterpillars what to use

Ever year caterpillars force me to cut early :pleading_face:. Last year I used BT spray but still ended up getting a decent amount of worms. Looking for something to maybe use with Bt thats not super harsh and user friendly. Would really like to get ahead of them. Any help would be appriciated.

I use Monterey BT or I also have a powdered BT I can add to other stuff - I mix it with PureCrop 1 which is very gentle and the plants actually seem to like it.

IPM is key too… you’ll have to spray on a consistent basis.

You can also buy the insect netting or row cover material and wrap the buds up. I wrapped my entire little auto this year. They make the netting in all different sizes or in rolls so you can cut-t-fit.

Spiders, if you’re brave enough

A mix of garlic powder and cayenne pepper sprinkled over the plants. Totally organic and washes off without residue.

We used this on some pumpkins that had worms and caterpillars. Worked pretty well. Sprayed it then some came out of nowhere to be squashed. Im no pro, but seemed to work.

@Adrjon99
What type of spiders?
I have a ton of small spiders in my vegetable garden, and no insect damage this year whatsoever. I know it’s not a coincidence. Maybe I’ll try to identify and relocate some from my vegetable garden to my other plants which are in more of a remote area.

Pretty much any aside from spider mites, they’re too small and will just cobweb up your bud. Spiders don’t eat plants, so whatever spider as long as they aren’t dangerous. Daddy Longlegs also wouldn’t work, since they don’t have big enough mouths to bite

Never tried pureCrop 1 looks like a good product. Do you use Bt liquid as suggested? Or do you have a partulicular amount you mix with?

Is Captain Jacks ok to use during flower on the buds? They always show up at the worst possible time. Ive read some conflicting things about it.

Yes, it uses a bacterial solution that kills insects from the inside out. Harmless to us, but still recommended to do a bud wash after chopping.

Either one. If ya grow outside. Youll get bud worms. These work perfect. I just started with Capt. Jack. I think its a better all around bug also.

I can’t say enough good about PC1. It’s all natural and the plants really love it too! It does everything, fungicide, insecticide, etc…
