Can't figure out the nute balance here

3rd week of flower
Is it nute burn?
Is it deficiency?
Is it both?
(Support ticket below)

I’m feeding with Biobizz nutes. 1.5L per watering.

0.4 ml/L Calmag
1.5ml/L Bio-grow
1.5ml/L Bloom
1ml/L Top max
3ml/L Canna Boost

PH was out of balance 2 weeks ago but sorted. They showed signs of leaf tip burn last week. So i cut down on the bio-grow to 1ml/L.
This week started with 0.3ml/L plagron PK 13/14.
Once a week 500ml of 1 tsp/L molasses

Now leaf tips are curling more, but the bottom yellowing isn’t stopping. Feeding chart says i need to feed more, but im not sure if they can handle it. I moved the lights higher and raised intensity to maintain DLI.

I can’t tell anymore and I need your help!

  • RQS Green Gelato Auto / Blue Cheese Auto

What’s the latest run off PH and PPMs Growmie :love_you_gesture:

Yeah , could be as simple as over watering but also a root issue . Peace .

I don’t water till runoff. Barely if any runoff, and it gets sucked back up fast.

I was watering at ph ranging from 6 to 6.5
2 weeks ago when I had soil ph drop to 5, I flushed and refed with beneficials and microbes + base nutes.
I stopped at runoff 6.7 and ppm ~ 700

Last time i checked the soil, ph was 6.4-6.8 before my ph probe broke.

Biobizz recommends no runoff, and solution ph between 7.0 and 7.3 (their explanation is the microbes in the soil will handle and buffer ph down to ~6.2 range - but if it goes below that, microbes can’t buffer up the ph.)

I learned my lesson last grow :joy:
This time I avoided overwatering - i don’t let it dry out completely (organic nutes and beneficials) but I make sure it’s light, and top 2 inches are dry. Some of the lower leaves get wet when i water.

I did flush one of them for ph correction (the green gelato) . And I’ll try and make sure to give them a dry cycle - but I doubt it’s overwatering

Calibrate your meter just to be sure. I’d lower pH about .5 and see what happens. Make corrections 1 at a time so you can read the effect of each in isolation. Ignore charts and graphs. Let the plant tell you. You’re doing well. You recognize something is amiss. The tips are nute burn and you’re really good there. It just looks like mine when my pH has gotten higher. I realize after a couple drought events, the plants intake is bottom up. The top thin parts are the last place that feed/water arrives. When mine yellow at the bottom I’ve learned 9/10 times my pH is high.

Runoff should not be sucked back up, next watering, get runoff and post numbers, I’m betting your ph is off at the roots, locking out your nitrogen. Yellow leaves won’t recover, look at new growth.

From the horses mouth…

If I water my plants manually, how often should I water them and how much water should I use?
We need to water the plants according to the specific needs of the crop, the variety, and the conditions of the substrate and environment. When watering manually, it would be enough to water between 3 and 5 times per week, depending on the substrate, temperature, and evapotranspiration.

How to know what is the right amount of water? A general recommendation is to water with 20-30% of the volume of the pot in water. For example, in a 10-liter pot we would use 2-3 liters of water mixed with the Biobizz nutrients.

I’ve read with organic you don’t need to water till runoff
No salt deposits, etc..

I’m doing fine with the watering - however 3 liters would oversaturate and flush my pot. I’ve seen almost everyone water with ~1L for 3gal pots

OK , you’ve eliminated that then . PH lockout ?

Yeah , I think you have nailed it Doc .

The runoff was just to test the ppm and ph of your media.

If you’re curious on the soil PPMs and PH you can pull a soil sample near the root zone and run a slurry test…..wouldn’t hurt and can let you know how often to amend the Bio nutrients. Take the date of the last amendment and compare it to the slurry test. Consider the plants age as well, the appetite will increase during the flower transition and for several weeks :love_you_gesture:

I have the same issue of run off being sucked up too fast so I brought some of these theres a hole in the bottom and a tray to catch run off. From Temu

Nutrient solution in at ph 6.6, 780ppm
Runoff ph 6.6, 1200ppm

It took almost 4 liters to get 15% runoff

2ml/L bio grow
2ml/L bio bloom
1ml/L top max
0.75ml/L PK13-14
3ml/L Canna boost

I would back the EC down some more, 1200 is getting too high and will start to cause lockout if not adjusted. You want runoff to be 1000 ppm or lower. Plain water PHd is another option to lower ppm ove a couple waterings.
