This is day 10! What happened? Will she live?
Growing in Aerogarden. Germinated with soak to wet paper towel method. White Horse gifted seed. Transplanted into coco pellet of aero garden w recommended nutrient. Day 3 looked great; Day 4 leaves looked scorched, emptied & refilled w plain water x 2 days. Primary leaves withered, stem pale, raised light. Day 8 re-introduced 1/2 strength nutrients into distilled water as recommended> stem greened up but leaves continue to shrivel & now stem also turning yellow again, also looks like part of stem emerging from another place in coco ? Bent stem? The other seedlings still haven’t emerged from their coco though I can see a bit of stem showing on 2 of the other 5 @latewood @bob31 @M4ur @Oldstoner @Donaldj @GetbackJoJo @Hogmaster @peachfuzz @Nug-bug @Myfriendis410. Any advice welcome & pass to anyone who may help me save them.
Way to young for nutes!
I followed directions for aero garden seedlings?. Should I just put distilled or aged tap water? I don’t have any RO. Think I can save it?
I would flush it with whatever straight water I had at this point. Needs to be done immediately! Not looking good though.
Ok, on it. Done. Flushed & put aged tap water w/o nutrients.
Distilled has a 6.5 pH. No nutes till 4-5 sets of leaves
Never give nutrients to seedlings , they don’t need nutrients until the 2 lil round leafs yellow and die and by then there should be 4 to 6 leafs on the plant…
By the looks of your baby I think your going to have to start over…
I was afraid of that. I wish I’d known not to put the nutrients in w the pods but the aerogarden directions said to.
Is that the ph I’m aiming for in hydro?
hydro or soilless ph is 5.8 pH
soil is 6.5 pH
May I recommend that if you aren’t sure about something please ask and hopefully we can help you keep them healthy
Any chance you can transplant them into soil without nutrients in like a dixie cup with lots of holes or something? I think they will surely die if you don’t and still may even if you do, but i think it is their only chance.
I think this needs to be done asap!
I have more jiffy pots, & garden soil, no potting mix. I can get some tomorrow. We only have WalMart & Lowes & possible a small local hardware store or I saw some at Dollar General.
Generic no name organic potting soil with perlite is all you need. Stay away from anything that contains fertilizer or time release fertilizer.
A soiless seedling mix is ok too.
I start all of mine in fox farms happy frog and they have done fantastic. My local true value and a grow store both had it, but the grow store had better prices.
Ok, thank you. I take care of that tomorrow. Does the perlite come in the mix or do I need to get that separately?
Was the pictures you posted just one plant or multiple plants…?
Or was that a pic of day to day of what happened?
Multiple 3 White horse in aero garden. 3 OGK in jiffy coco pellets, 1 was in a used tiny smart pot; that’s the one w the tiny worms. It previously had a poinsettia in it. I did not use the same dirt but I didn’t sterile the pot either.
pH to what? I’m new to all this. Do I start w tap water or distilled water & adjust the ph accordingly? What is the ph goal? What is liquid Thrive & where do I find it. One minute you say no nutrients then your saying add ph & whatever Thrive is. I have no idea what that is.
By the way, no one has answered this question: lights on or off until recovery? I feel like I’m about to perform surgery, so let me make sure I understand this. You want me to open the jiffy coco pots AND rip the core out of my aerogarden plants further stressing them & then water them with a gallon of ph water w H2O2 & Thrive AFTER I’ve transplanted them AGAIN into plain soil w perlite only? Is that correct?
What kind of water should I wash their roots withbefore I transplant & water them?

Repot your girls and keep same hours of growing. Hopefully you’ll see a change for the better in a few days.
@Laurap
Was there a conversation here that we missed some how? A little confused from the above posts.
