AeroGarden Seed Germination

Started two ILGM WW Fem seeds in my AreoGarden to see how fast they germinate. They’ll come out once they have some roots. I’m just seeing how it works with germination and if I can remove the plant from the little plastic spikes used in the AG. It’s been about 24 hours and I can see that the seeds have split and the tap roots is starting to poke out. Should be interesting. Used PH’d tap water and the AG nutes. Worked great for everything I’ve ever grown in it. Maybe by tomorrow, there will be some green to show.

So far, faster than my results soaking the seeds. Those hadn’t done anything visible in 24 hours. Took 36 hours to pop up after soaking and then putting in soil.

Haha love it man I got one of the older models I just did way with the lower tank part and use the lights to start clones these have done rooted and trying to stress them into hermies but I use it with my bubble cloner also

 Nice!

I have to admit, they work great. I’ve done lettuce twice and had more than I knew what to do with. Won’t have that problem with pot though  I’ll be putting them in soil after a week or so but it if works, I’ll use it to start my next round of seeds. Self-contained so I won’t need my tent, which will have drying bud in it hopefully.

Yes I tried using mine and it did really good I just let my plant get way to big before flowering and it out grew the aero garden and the tank motor would loose connection due to corrosion on the contacts. That’s when I just did away with the lower part and used it for the light on starts then I learned how to clone and it works perfect for cloning and starting seeds.

I saw a little one at the hydroponic store the other day, I mean tiny but I think it would be great for starting seeds

What an excellent idea. I always wanted one of those, but couldn’t justify buying one. That’s a great tip.

They are excellent for growing small vegs and herbs…not really big enough head room on the model i got only goes up about 20" maybe 24" but the biggest problem i had was the roots getting tangled up in the reservoir motor. The older model i have has 3 cfls I believe they have upgraded the lights to led and probably get better growth out of the newer models. Just as Matt is doing I will normally start my seeds and clones under this lighting and it works great!

Both seeds have made it to the surface of the AG pod. About the same amount of timing as soaking for 24 hours then into soil. I still think it will surpass some of my weaker 1.5-week olds.

Very impressive! I’m gonna get me one of these.

Opt for the LED one if you can. It really works well I have to say. I’ve done herbs and some different types of lettuce, all kicked ass. Been dying to try it for some pot. I’ve seen pics of some full grows with good results although I think it’s too small for that and I’ll be moving them within 2 weeks I suspect.

Two weeks is good enough! I like that everything is all together. I think I’ll ask Santa for one for Xmas.

Or wait until after the wedding and share mine. ROFL

LOL! But two is always better than one.

Seems to be a theme

Made a back & side reflector for the AreoGarden and added a 6500K CFL. Pretty bright.
