Calling All Experienced With Dry Sifting

I just got my screens in today, 4 total. They’re actually for printing so are measured in mesh not microns but they were high quality for cheap
I was looking into static tech to separate the plant matter from the heads. I’m wondering if that’ll work with screens with aluminum frames?

What would be the best way to collect full melt with these screens and static tech? Mesh is 60, 90, 130 and 200 btw.

I’ve seen them used in videos basical you stack them with the microns getting smaller just like with bubble hash then they take their hand and basicall just use the screens like a cheese grater to break down the material the different layers will each produce a different grade

Doing this in my attic as it’s the coldest room in the house. Heres the supplies…iso, spray bottle for misting screens with iso, clorox wipes for the desk (was in the attic), fresh sharpies, labels, scale, parchment to line the desk and collect the sift, and paint brush rollers to static clean following runs.

Oh and i figured these baby food jars would be good to collect the hash in!
Stay tuned I’ll update with results, screens are drying so it’ll take a while.

I put my trim in bags in a commercial freezer, taking bags out occasionally and squeezing, shaking, and smacking on the bags. You will see lots of trichs falling off in the bags. When I screen, it’s one bag at a time fresh out of the deep freeze. I’ll never wash or dry ice hash again, this way is the easiest I’ve found and gets most product return. Last run……

Beautiful stuff doc!! About how much starting material for that? I just did an hour or so of Sifting and got about 5.4 grams full spectrum sift from a single 90gram bag of trim. I don’t think i have the carding technique down completely.

Don’t know the weight, but it was several bags of trim and larfy bud.

That’s just off your trim…
That’s awesome…

Thanks man… first ever try at it. I have about 3 more bags to try but it gets a little tiring! Still better than bubble though imo… so much work where that’s involved

Where did you get your screens at??
If you can send a link would be awesome…

Ever press your sift? Or how do you process it after? I have a low pressure dab press that isn’t really any good for pressing flower but might work with this stuff.

Im not sure if posting a link is allowed but look for goldup usa… they are cheaper than the Amazon dry sift screens by about 20-25$ to get a set of 4. I got the 60, 90, 130 and 200 count mesh screens for about $100.

Honestly the 20x24" are pretty big but I’m happy with them. I wouldnt go too much smaller.

I use a 90 mesh (165 micron) when sifting. I seen people use between 70 and 120. The tighter the mesh, the less plant material that makes it through.

Links to Amazon are fine. Most others are not.

I like to append ILGM’s affiliate info when posting Amazon links so that they get a piece of the action. Just copy and paste the following to the end of the URL.

Just wondering if that would work with everything I buy on Amazon?

Not sure. Affiliate links might have a click-through requirement.

Cool, I spend a lot on there every month
