California light works Solar System 550 - a choice?

I am looking to (finally) upgrade my lighting from 2 “blurpies” to one of two alternatives:

SF2000

or a California light works Solar System 550 (available on a local “deal”) for $375.

Grow room is about 2 x 6. One of the areas I have struggled with is heat control in the grow room. Like to keep it about 75F if possible.

Recommendations are needed. Also try to state why you would choose one over the other - if possible.

If heat is an issue then I would select the light that allows me to put the ballast (driver) outside of the tent.

That said, the California light works Solar System 550 looks to be just another burple. I would look at the quality of the diodes and actual power draw before I bought one. The Spider Farmer is an okay light, but would probably fall short of properly lighting a 2x6 for flowering. An HLG 320 would probably be a better choice for a 2x6. The HLG costs quite a bit less than the California light works Solar System 550 (full retail) too.

Thanks FP.

I called the Mfg (California Lightworks - CLW) and they report the heat output was about 1200btu’s which compares with about 3200btu’s of my current system. CLW said their system is designed to only run fans to cool the diodes - when needed the fans cycle “on” for 5 minutes then shut down (my system currently runs the fans all the time to keep the lights cool).

I have no data on the btu output of the SF2000 or a comparable unit from HLG.

When I have both of my sf2000 going at 100% my tent runs between 7 and 9 degrees hotter then my lung room. That’s with a 6" ac infinity exhaust on three and a 4" I-power on med as intake in a 4x4 tent

Thanks.

This is a tough decision and I have been reading through a bunch of threads to draw some conclusions.

Obviously I’m a fan of spider farmer I own three of them. Except for the new sf7000 they are built with the exact same parts as hlg and you get more watts per $ with sf. The only difference i can find is hlg has more red spectrum light than sf

Good to see people doing their research before making a decision.
