Burnt looking ends on all leaves?

Hey guys, any idea what’s going on here?? 2 600 rspec lights both at like 80 percent high as they can go in a 4x8 tent? Thank you

My phone is garbage. Are the lower leaves darker green than the ones higher up?

Hey @Mjm697 they are looking a little nutrient deprived. But would need to ask a few more questions to give an informed answer.

Answer these simple questions the best you can. If you are not sure, just bring it to our attention. We will figure it out.

  1. Indoor or outdoor? - size of grow?
  2. Otigin of seeds?
  3. Regular, feminized, or autoflower?
  4. Origin of water. PH, EC/TDS of source water?
  5. PH and TDS/EC of if mixed solution?
  6. Grow method? Soil, Soil-less, Coco, Hydro, Aquaponics. Please explain.
  7. Nutrients or fertilizer system used.
  8. What typr of lighting are you using? LED, HID (MH, CMH, HPS), or Fluorescents? Please elaborate.
  9. What are the temps in your growspce? Day / Night?
  10. What is the RH = relative humidity in your growspace? Day / Night?
  11. AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier?
  12. Do you have a Ventilation system? Size? 4", 6"?
  13. Co2 Yes / No?
  14. How long have you been growing?
  15. What budget have you set in order to grow successfully?
  16. If you grow hydro, then please explain your hydro method. DWC, R-DWC, Ebb and Flow, Or; Other? Other?

16b. Size and temperature of solution in reservoir?

Always try to upload a clear picture in white light of any issues you may have to allow the community to identify your issue.

Anything you feel would help us give you more informed advice should be included. Feel free to elaborate at the end of the survey.

My guess is Magnesium and/or Potassium but never chase deficiencies until you check the ph of your soil… you can do that with a soil slurry test… do you have a ph meter?

The tips of leaves are “painted nails” or very slight nutrient burn indicating you have found the plants threshold for nutes, and the ribbed look usually means a zinc deficiency. New growth on top is generally a little lighter in color on new shoots than at the bottom of plant

Yes some

What does I found the threshold mean? Don’t give more nutes for awhile? Thank you

I’ll grab some zinc today, these plants have had deficiencies since day one and I honestly can’t wait for this batch to be over lol

Ditto what Cali said. Ove never seen a zinc deficiency in my 3-4 years of growing or hanging out around here. Thats a super rare deficiency and Id think if you get it, its more of a pH lockout then zinc not being available. Especially if growing in soil.

Have u tested pH in any way?

This is true but without ph numbers there is no way of knowing for sure and that is my next indicator of whats wrong after ph.

I test and adjust ph every time I water (tap now)and after I add nutes to water. I’m thinking I’m overwatering because that’s all that seems to make sense, I always adjust my ph between 6.2-6.5, I did check the runoff last week and it was 6.2

I’ve had nothing but issues since I started lol. I was useing ro water when all this started and I was adjusting the ph in that, but was told you can’t adjust ro water, so then I stopped useing it about 3weeks ago and now use tap water.

My soil is mostly worm castings now with a mix of true earth.

Thank you all for your help, I think this batch is just doomed from the beginning

Haha nah. Starting out its always doom and gloom but they are some really hardy plants.

When mixing nutrients i prefer tap water. It holds pH much better then RO and can be adjusted (as uve learned).

When pouring pure water, RO is actually perfect. As it will tell you the exact pH of you medium.

Now you know how much nutrients the plants can take. Also do you have a ph reading

We are all just guessing without @Mjm697 answering the support ticket I sent earlier.

Let’s see what you’ve told us.

  1. you bought 2 @ 600 HLG fixtures
This light is set to 80%
  2. you hung it in 4x8 tent

Pictures are great and help but we do not know what nutrient your using. What temperature and humidity your tent is at.

We are just pissing in the wind on a solution.

6.2 runoff, is it possible I’m overwatering?

If I need to buy zinc today?? What product am I looking for? Can’t find to much info

Bergman’s nutes

82 degrees
56 humidity

Bring you humidity up to around 70% until you flip to flower. Too dry at this point VPD over 1.6: Danger Zone (Over Transpiration)

Are you using beneficial microbes?
Do you have an active ventilation system bringing in fresh air?
What the pH and TDS of your water?
What’s your light cycle?

It may get a bit repetitive but @LateNightGardner is on the right trail. These questions help eliminate some things and highlight other possible problems. Answer no matter how mundane or pointless it may seem. Could be something u left out for not knowin that raises the red flag

I rarely check ph of input or runoff anymore. I will, however, check the SOIL ph if I think something is off. You do it using a soil slurry test.

Thank you, I will look that up on how to do that.
