First attempt at non auto flowers and going good so far except unwelcomed bugs. I am assuming these are flies but not sure, I have had in past but did not notice until they began to fly so this time i put fly paper up but now i am seeing them crawling on top of soil. Trying to get a good pic but they scatter when i open door (i see them on camera). What can I use to get rid of these and not harm plants?

Sounds like gnats. The larvae will come out of soil and crawl around on top until they’re able to fly. The sticky traps will eventually take care of the fliers but you’ll want a bti product like mosquito bits to zap the larvae otherwise they’ll just keep coming.

Like @dbrn32 said, mosquitoe bits soaked in water then use to water plant, it sprinkle liberally on top of soil and water in. I like soaking to get more to the roots and kill the larvae.

Another vote of confidence for mosquito bits. Fly strips for the flyers and mosquito bits to nuke the larvae
