Here are 2 pics of buds. The first one was taken on the day of harvest. The second pic is 9 days later of drying out. I have grown them inside and did everything perfect. Perfect water, perfect lighting, the trichones were 90% cloudy and the pistils were 90% yellow when I harvested them. But why are my buds not tight and dense like I see online?
Looks like it wasn’t ready …gotta wait for the fruit to be ripe ,what light are you using anyways?
I use grow lights, the seedling lights then I move to flower lights. I wanted to harvest before the trichones started to turn amber.
What kind of grow lights are you using. Underpowered and low quality LED’s, T5’s and
amazon lights is the main contributor to light and airy buds.
In the first photo, the bud doesn’t look ready yet,
What models ? A light can be a light but , they don’t all perform the same
I had 3 autos going same strain
did different training on them
The one i didn’t touch gave me most harvest but airy buds, the others dense as hell…might be phenotype…
i flower under 2x400w HPS
they are all GE grow lights. Half are for seeds, the other half for flowering. The plant on the left is a dud. I have over a two dozen bulbs on them. I’m wondering now if I’m just not leaving them long enough before I harvest. Maybe I should wait till I see that first amber trichone. I’m just an amateur. Growing for my own amusement. And like outdooring said, I have a good harvest on each plant just airy as they dry out.
If you cut the plastic diffuser domes off the led bulbs you can get more bang for your buck
Yeah this is probably part of the reason of the problem, just let them gain some weight, and a better lighting solution might help
Doing it right now…thanks!
Holy light bulbs. How much were all them bulbs and how big is that space. Dense buds come from good light. Good loght cost alot but the outcome is phenomenal. I had 10 blurples ranging from 50w to 300w and all in one roon 4x7x8 amd gave nics buds but loose and airy. Switched and got some hlgs from wise words from guys here and man do they make a difference. I went from buds that were like 2 inch round and 3 inch long weighing in at a gram or over to same size buds from hlg lights give me like 3 4 and 5 gram buds that size. Makes a hell of a diff
I have over $200 in just the bulbs and that space is only 2.5’x4’. Barely big enough for 2 plants. While growing my plants have been beautiful and I really thought I was going to have some nice dense buds on the first 2 I harvested but as they have been drying out they have become airy.
Without a doubt the culprit is insufficient light. Those bulbs simply aren’t set up to do what you are wanting to. In addition; it looks scary dangerous having all of those fixtures and power cords in the grow space.
If you want to grow cannabis and not weed, it would be wise to learn about quality lighting options. HLG is the top one now and while not cheap, will solve your problems.
