This lady has never done as well as her sisters. Her sisters were in coco/perlite and she was in food/coco/perlite as an experiment. Think I gave her nutes too early, so she foxtailed a bit, but she progressed as well as she could thereafter with no problems. All of a sudden, her fan keaves started crisping, and her sugar leaves started to turn brown over the span of a few days. Removed fan leaves yesterday but sugar leaves look worse today! She’s a blue dream auto 10 weeks old grown outdoors in hawai’i. Is it bud rot? Salvageable or just chuck her? Chance she affected her sisters??
I’m not seeing bud rot but hopefully someone will chime in with a better opinion
Thanks for taking time to respond! Hopefully someone will be able to tell me what this is and what to do. This is only my 3rd run so still have lots to learn even with all the reading I’ve been doing. Sometimes better to just ask! Just to and a few more details, she gets 4-8 cups of water per day and I use foxfarm trio with calmagic and follow the hydroponic feeding schedule. I’ve attached a few more closeups in case it helps!
It dont look like the bud rot I had if it is, my brown spots where deeper not just on the tips, if you pull one of the brown sugar leaves does pull out super easy and does the brown continue in to the bud if so I would say bud rot if not I would other issues.
No, they don’t pull easily…so maybe not bud rot…but not sure what could have cause her to go down so fast! With only a few weeks left, hoping whatever it is it’s still salvageable!
How much are the ppms going in and out looks to me like a little heavy on the nutrients
Definitely the beginnings of bud rot. Cut away all the swiftly dying leaves, and try to pull apart and peek inside the buds for any browning and clip it away to fresh green. Also, if possible, get a reading of ppm’s and pH runoff. This will help pinpoint any root zone issues.
That is botrysis mold
Thanks everyone…RIL my girl. Thankfully I have 3 more so I’m keeping a careful eye on them!
Agree 100%
man what a brutal year…i lost 3/4 of my big outdoor girls. Never again unless i move to a different climate.
Botrytis AKA “bud rot”
Unfortunately, she does look like bud rot. Those brown leaves are never a good sign. I’ve had lots of leaves yellow and fall off - but that brown crispy look is not normal at all.
Sorry about that.
I’m sorry to see her getting bad for you
I had some of that same looking issues with my white widow autoflower. She went from beautiful to turning brown and crispy within a couple of days. My EC and ppm were WAAAY off track and this had started off with a few yellowing leaves so I super dosed her on CaliMag and probably ended her growing life.
So I gave her the chop, hung her to dry, and just yesterday trimmed her up into curing bags. With bud and trim, she gave me just over 2oz.
And thank you @ChittyChittyBangin and @Aussie_autos for your input when I was struggling to figure out what I had done to her!
