Bud Rot / Black dots (catapillar poop) Can I salvage anything?

So I noticed a couple of days ago some kind of webbing and then today I saw lots of black dots on some of the buds. I thought was eggs but on reading seems is catapillar poop. Then on close inspection there are some areas of bud rot. Pretty devastated right now and not sure if I can save any buds which don’t have rot?? It’s so hard to see because it kind of looks like frost.

There is defitnely not enough airflow in the tent so I am going to make a back window to provide that as I still have three plants that have just started to flower so hopefully they have a chance. I’m also going to start spraying with cannacure to avoid all pests as this is devastating. Now I have hatred for all insects. Haha already hated snails for their peskiness in the garden. Glad at least it got the auto and not my two massive Blueberry muffins going into flower now.

Just to add this plant is a Gorilla Zkittlez Auto and I was going to harvest it tomorrow. The black dots literally only just appeared this morning.

Any guidance here would be great. Feel completely helpless right now. Can I not save any buds that look ok?

Found the bastard.

Good job wasn’t one of the tiny ones that digs in. This guy had made a caccoon inside one of the leaves. Quite impressive.

I remove all effected rotted areas and I looked inside the buds and is no rot inside apart from a few I threw out. So I have the plant open air now for airflow and will harvest tomorrow and hope for the best.

Definitely from now going to be using cannacure or maybe people think that captain jacks is better?

Hey man. Ye I am glad was a big one. It seems he must of arrived last night and I got him this morning.

The bud rot I think is due to airflow and I cut that all away. Lost a few buds.

I am hoping now harvest and dry and cure will be ok.

If you’ve got critters and their remnants, I recommend a bud wash.

@Underthestairs I was dreading someone would say this. I was really hoping to not do that. I cut all the bad bits.

Especially having bud rot it’s important. If not then care of, you’re introducing mold into your dry she cure which can easily spread.

If you take the time to get setup, it’s not a difficult process. :metal:

Well it seems worth it to stop any spread. Hoepfully doesn’t affect flavours so much. I shall look into it then. Thanks.

If you follow the method you see around here it won’t. Cannabis isn’t water soluble so the goodies remain intact

Defo worth the wash then. Cheers man
