I use dry ice and use the 73 micron screen. 5 minutes to do the same job as 20 minutes with ice. Plus the remainder goes right in the oven for decarb and butter right after.
I will never use ice again!

Thank you for the tips and the advice. I am definitely going to try this method. I just wrote your directions in my notebook. Thanks for sharing.
@neckNflu Mornin’ I just ordered my ‘bags’ from Amazon.com so add me to the list please.
I think the bubble hash is of higher quality because like @Countryboyjvd1971 you can shake till you get plant material in there which you don’t want…
But considering what @Countryboyjvd1971 has there it would take a decade to build that amount up in the keif catcher of a grinder lol.
The trick with dry ice is shake out immediately and watch for color. The ice method, done properly requires multiple runs to extract and the quality goes down each time as plant material finds its way through.
Yup, you start getting into the flower then the keif will begin to turn from a golden-white color to a pale green…
The more plant material that gets in there the more it begins to look like army green
I used to take a Tupper ware container and a silk coffee fliter put silk filter in top of Tupper ware and fill filter with flowers or trim then place in freezer overnight then shake and the tricomes fall right off through silk filter into container. Worked like a charm
@highcountrygal which bags did you order? I saw 5 - 5 gallon bags and I also saw 8 - 5 gallon bags. I’m not sure which are correct. @neckNflu do you have 5 or 8?
Yeah, I’d like to know which set of bags to get too. There’s a big selection on Amazon.
Lmfao hell yeah sis i did run quite a bit of product but it was all sugar leaves and popcorn bud from around 6-8 plants @raustin using dry ice you can get a ton back just need to go easy lol
Wow, i had no idea you could produce that much from sugar leaves and popcorn buds. I usually just throw mine out, but never again.
I try not to waste anything you can even use the stems and fan leaves to make coconut oils theres a lot of cdb in that material also
So ill cook one batch up with the stems and what not at harvest time
Well, my “problem” is I have so much bud that I use it for everything! I make my butter and oil using flower, so I just toss the stems and leaves cause I really don’t have anyplace to store it all. I know, nice problem to have, but for my current grow I’m going to save everything!
@McB @raustin I got the iPower 5gal. 5 bag by emarketing solutions Amazon.com 19.99
Once trim, not flower, is dried you can really store it many different ways. You don’t have to have a bunch of curing jars. If it’s completely dry you can throw it in a gallon freezer bag and keep it in the freezer. Heck I’ve had trim sit in an open cardboard box for months under the cabinet and was still good for extract
I was thinking of getting the 8 bag, just cause… It’s 8 bags. Lol!
I kinda liked the 1 gal set! Too much work
Lol, that’s exactly what I did for my first harvest. I just couldn’t bring myself to throw anything out, so I crammed all my leaves into gallon freezer bags. I didn’t think to freeze them though, instead I had bags of trim all over the bedroom waiting to be used for something. Eventually, I had to get rid of them cause I just had too much pot hanging around and my husband was sure I would be arrested. Lol!
About storage, I think most of you country dwellers don’t understand what its like living in New York City. My apartment is small… I mean really small, though by NYC standards it’s a friggin mansion, but small by anyone else’s standard. I have no space for even freezer bags! That’s how small I’m talking. it sucks, but I’m used to it.
I don’t mind the work if it’ll get me a better product, but yeah, work. I see your point.
@raustin I cannot even conceive what NYC would be like! Don’t fence me in!
