Interesting. Yeah, I’m really enjoying the different leaf development from week to week! Can’t wait to do some trimming and training!
When your grow is complete it’s a good idea to examine the roots. You will be able to tell a lot about the overall quality of your plant care by the amount of roots you encounter.
Good to know! Based on your advice I watered around the stem with this watering, but it was a bit hard to control it from pooling and making its way to the stem. This ring would help a lot!
Great advice thanks! Yeah I’m also curious to see if the Dynomyco and Recharge are helping them as well!
Right! I’ve seen a few grows with them, usually big grow ops with piped and pumped watering contraptions. If it continues to happen you can scoop some of the excess soil on the top and build a mole hill around your stem.
I’ve read good things about real growers recharge. Not used any yet myself.
Pretty amazing photo of just 4 days of growth. Have found that these really slow down on height growth and pack on the foliage growth. Almost every day is a new node coming in. Really neat to see the evolution of these plants!
Just for clarification, this is Day 7 compared to Day 11. 4 days of more growth, not Day 4.
So I wanted to run something by whoever would like to give me some advice. 3rd node FIM or wait until 5th? With these being auto I would imagine doing it now would be better with the potential delay while they recover. Then again this is my first grow and I don’t want to ruin the good start I’m off to…
Something else, the first internode is insanely large in girth compared to their stem. Its especially large in the first one pictured. Is this a good sign, just a growth habit of BB, a lack of something or what?
I top at the 6th if that helps, never FIMed b4. Maybe next grow I should try it.
This vid might help
It does help. I was hoping to top one and FIM the other. I will definitely wait on topping as I’ve learned this is more stress on the plant because your cutting the stem vs just pinching foliage and a tender developing stem. So waiting for further root development makes sense there. As always, you are willing to help! Can’t thank you enough my friend!!!
Would love to have some input from anyone else who’d like to chime in… too early in the game to FIM? Or would it just be FIRMming (Fuck I Really Missed!) at this point…
You my friend… are my idol!!! Man, great job! It looks like you are having yourself a blast! That gives me something to shoot for now! What strain is this?
Now the nitrogen deficiency, is that due to switching over to phosphorus and potassium for flowering, or is it due to something pryer to flower? Just curious. Not knocking it, THAT is a nice yield from an auto regardless! So something I’m really liking is “reading” the plant and getting that whole Zen thing going with the grow. Hoping to sharpen my skills as the weeks, months and years go by!
So I am in a million directions with starting out! I want to Top, I want to FIM, I want to Flux, Bonsai, start a new topiary trend with animal shapes… I need more space! This growing is a gateway drug!!! With VA being legal now and in 2 years dispensaries popping up here… I now want to be a master grower when I grow up!
Bruce Banner auto, both of em. The purple one isn’t. It’s supposed to be but it isn’t. I have been battling Ph issues in this grow. She got the deficiency because Of a lock out mid flower. I wasn’t following the soil flush procedure properly. The purple one burnt all over because I went full feed too quickly. This grow was the first time I have used PK boosters, it’s shows in the leaves….but also in the buds, cuz they are pretty fat. I’m in the end of the final flush so the 1st one is all kinds of yellow now. Canna Bonsai would be fun, I think. Fairly time consuming but, this already eats up a good chunk of everyday,
I’m going to enter one of the green ones buds into the BOM contest this month.
They will still need “some” nitrogen during flower. Very little mind you but still needs it.
Live and learn as I know you did! You seem to be a quick learner and obtain a wealth of info, you should be fine going forward!
Best of luck in the BOM! They should turn out nice! Can’t wait to see the final product!!!
Once I get these 2 under my belt I am going to really get in there and do some experimenting and trial and error with another batch. Fluxing REALLY looks rewarding, but I will have to order some Photoperiods for that run.
So as I approach the next watering in a few days, any advice on how much to water these guys at this stage. As it stands with my new regiment, I am watering 1 cup for each plant, once a week. Btw, I am now doing the pot lift weight test and I am trying to “read” the plants/soils needs better. I think I need to do lower volume/more frequently though. Thoughts?
Then in an attempt to make the roots search out water and help the water not run near the stem, I created soil rings around each.
I’ve got another year of auto’s ahead. I see lotsa people doing photo’s in their tent but, it seems like a whole lotta work to stop the light leaks. Apartment living right now, hope to be house living next year. Then I’m gonna switch to photo’s outdoors and auto’s indoors.
That’s the stuff! As she grows wider, widen the watering ring. Looken super healthy and happy.
