Think we’ve all had a friend like that lol. Sorry to jump on your thread. How’s it all going?
@Ozghost No worries man, they are looking quite good today. 1 of the Bruce Banner sprouts is stretching quite a bit already. Im a little concerned about the GDP sprout. She’s growing a little slower, but I keep trying to remind myself she was a slow starter. Here’s some pics from this morning. 20210324_143822|243x500
@Ozghost I also finally got an email today saying the “Kind” soil is on its way so Im super excited to finally give the older girl some feeder medium. Ill start some LST on her soon after and move her under the LED lamps. Im sure she’ll take off like crazy after she adjusts.
Looks like she’s Gunna be on roids. Healthy looking girl.
I have yet to have an IlGM seed not sprout and I’ve sprouted at least 40.
I have a feeling many who are having these issues are using inadequate lighting and temps for a quick germination and I’m not saying the op used poor lighting, but I have read so much of this I got non germinating stuff on here that from my personal experience I can say either folks are getting different IlGM seeds than I am or the problem is on there end and is most likely light or temp issues or possibly drowning the damn seeds.
I say this because I simply stick my seeds in a 3 gallon pre watered pot with potting soil about an inch deep 16 inches under a 600 watt metal halide bulb and have yet to have one not sprout. I’ve tried IlGM White widow auto, Bruce Banner auto and Super Skunk photo seeds all with no issues.
I know some folks are using piss poor LED lighting that has virtually no heat signature. Walk outside on a sunny day and notice the sun doesn’t just make light it makes heat and so much heat that it causes sunburn.
It ain’t the seeds fault if it ain’t planted right so I’m tole. Constantly touching seeds with hands looking for a tail you read about online could be what’s killing them. No telling what’s on some of y’all’s hands.
How the admins at IlGM keep there cool with obvious rookies and scammers is very professional in my opinion as I woulda done screamed at a few of the obvious rookies who couldn’t grow a plant sprouted for them by someone else, much less sprout a simple seed, or even worse some lowlife scum bag scammer looking to get a free seed or two. And I’m talking to the public in general here not the op who I’m sure did his best. I apologise to the op for jacking the thread with a rant but I’ve read the last my seeds won’t sprout crap I care to read.
Learn how to sprout a tomato or something before you go screw up valuable weed seed and the come on here and cry about it folks. And to the scammers yeah you know who you are, I say to you that you ain’t no 420 brother of mine as I despise scum like that and always will as a thief is all they are.
If they will steal from IlGM they will steal from me and you too. And hey if your cheap Chinese led crap you bought on eBay for 30 bucks that advertised for 3000 watts but is only 20 watts won’t sprout seeds that ain’t IlGM or any seed banks fault it’s your fault for not researching and being a cheap skate. Go buy you a 100 watt light bulb and Walla you can now sprout seeds. Rant over.
The GDP I’ve noticed couple very different phenos amongst them could also be playing in with yours. Question I’ve got for you. That bigger Bruce. How do you keep it looking so lush at the start. I always have the problem of I think nitrogen deficiency at early stages… But reading all I can on autos ppl say don’t add nutes to early. Usually every one I’ve raised starts going yellow before I find the wet spot to add some juice. I’d say it sets me back everytime… What do you plan on feeding throughout your schedule? Also if you look up A-trains auto feed schedule I originally based food off his with taking a fair bit of the hard to get stuff in Oz which is most of the advanced line
Don’t think every seed will sprout bud. I’ve had a fair few not work for me. 40 seeds sprouted, you may possibly have a few more to get under your belt in the nicest possible way. Also auto growers have it way too easy. Go try a crop on a recirc system with photo plants the old school way. Youl still be learning new stuff ten years later plus have a few crop failures along the lines. Watering an auto to finish is too easy, but fun at the same time. Your gauranteed to get something, doesn’t make a pro grower but
Hey Oz I got a 5ft foot banner auto now on its 12th week. But the other 3 ended up about a foot and a half tall and bushy. The auto version doesn’t appear to be consistent as it throws and Indica type pheno and a taller sativa looking pheno. I’m putting 2 three week old auto banners that I started indoors on 20 on and 4 off outside this weekend in ten gallon short grow bags with super soil in the bottom alongside 10 Devil XXL and being the 2 banners are looking like the taller sativa looking phenos the race will soon be on and I wouldn’t doubt BB outgrows the devil XXL.
BB seems to love Cal Mag in large amounts even in supersoil especially at the end. In it’s seedling stage it doesn’t like nitrogen no more than what’s in an average potting soil mix. White Widow on the other hand seemed to like larger amounts of nitrogen.
BB is also a slow budder but comes on strong with some purple toward the end. I now top all WW once around day 21. BB I don’t top as unlike the widow it seems to slow up. Banners take more than 12 weeks as mine ain’t ready yet but is loud as hell now.
Oz I have a 12 pot recirculating system now alongside supersoil 5 gallon grows.
I never start my seeds for a recirculating system in the pots I start mine in perlite. Outdoors is what I love though. Bruce Banner photo seeds won’t be beat by these autos on size nor yield but the potency is impressive. IlGM super skunk photos are loving Dixie and are a little more Indica than the Skunk #1 I grow but are a good photo seed from this seed bank
Good stuff. I’m same got the 2 variations with banner also. Wish I was at 12 weeks. Have you got any bud porn of the banner?
Gelato. JH. BD. Zkittles have been very reliable for the germination as well as banana n GDP. One I suggest and only my opinion is don’t bother with the cheese, it’s disgraceful any that do decide to show are either mutants or laggers in the growth stage.
Got o.g kush. sour d. Gold leaf to have a crack at when I’ve got space.
Gelato so far is my love. Reliably quick. Juicy and stinks as soon as chopped
I’ll take some pics when this flooding rain stops. I’m hoping the BB get really big outside. I put 3 WW in ten gallon bags too. I’m not going to top them like I do indoors. Gold leaf photos are one I want to try as well as it is a balanced hybrid.
Through the years I have found I personally prefer at least a 60 percent on up sativa hybrid. What size u getting on the gelato OZ?
@Ozghost I’ve always kept my plants under a mix of daylight and grow fluorescent tubes on 24hrs a day at about 2"-5" with a dome. Then pull them out of the dome while i’m at work during the day for wind stressing and put the light almost right on top of them. I usually do this till they get a few good stages of growth then gently ween back the light from there. I feed via foliar every other spraying with either a few drops of superthrive or a drop of dark energy per a quart sprayer. PH and ppm is always kept in check. I’ll be using “Kind” soil as
soon as it arrives as an organic feeding medium. They don’t recommend using any additional nutes with their soil. This will be my first go around with them as I’ve always used MG seed starter and organic potting soil with an organic liquid fertilizer regimen. Figured I’d try something new since they advocate so hard not to use MG here anymore. I plan on flushing the medium with FF Sledgehammer every couple to few weeks to rinse salt buildup as they also do not recommend watering until runoff do to nutrition depletion. Happy Growing Brother!!
My big Bruce is in a 5 gallon pot with supersoil and it’s a tad over 5 feet. the auto version of Banner is a finicky chick as the photo version is one of the easiest I’ve ever grown it’s as easy as skunk.
In the beginning I fed nothing but water for a week. I then added half strength Cal Mag and Nirvana and Grow for 2 weeks then I went with the whole kitchen plus the sink including earthworm casting juice. I actually over n my banner early but I noticed the dark green growth on what I know to be a hulk green plant quick and flushed it a couple times and then carried on with no issues.
My Indica pheno short bushy banners are getting yellow leaves fast and are purpling a tad on top but not shining with trichs where as my tall banner is really pumping out resin and glistens. One bushy banner may lose all it’s fan leaves before that slow dude is ready. Where as my tall banner has lost little leaf to yellow in the final days. I’ve grown the photo version so I can say the potency of that tall banner pheno is on par. The shorter version has yet to match the taller phenos trich production and doubt it will.
I imagine your issue early OZ is the same one I had and learned from. BB auto likes to be damn near overdosed with Cal Mag. More than any plant I’ve ever grown. It also doesn’t appear to like ph anywhere near 7. Once I lowered mine to 6 she shot up like a rocket where the WW for example doesn’t care as long as the ph is between 6 and 7
Gold photos went off tap for me. Worth a crack. I admitedly munted them with pgr and water cooling issues on a recirc so can only imagine what a nurtured one would look like
The gelatos I stunted with pgr so I’m running a heap behind the banners now n never touching pgr again, first n last time . Originally purchased autos to fill gaps as an experiment and to sus the hype out n wanted to keep them small. But considering the lack of stretch and reduced quality they were total poo, harvest them in controlled environment carried the first two through my house and the smell wouldn’t f off, also had a empty sandwich bag left in my car that was only used as a double outer layer, next day my car smelt like it had pounds in it. Got 16 seedlings in, n 20 stockpiled of gelato. After all these types will narrow down my favourite strains. Only other one I want to experiment with is the GG
Im converting back to soil now as it’s outdoor planting time here. But next winter I plan on pulling this recirculating system I bought back out and learn how not to over fertilize bag seed like last time. I have some Devil XXL autos about an inch tall outdoors and others that are more important at the moment. That recirc system is a new one for me and it showed
I have 2 green crack photos now under light about 5 sets of leaves just topped them. My GC came from another seed bank with the initials CK and are one of the strongest growers I have u can’t kill Green Crack it just jumps back up and says hey. I imagine I’m gonna have hell keeping it from growing through my roof.
@2GreenThumbs Damn dude! Hope you feel better now that you got that off your chest. Maybe little less sativa today and more indica maybe? Lol. For real though, I feel you. Unfortunately, just like every other living being on this earth, some make it, some don’t. Some even after they’ve come out of the womb looking promising. So yes in fact I’ve had some duds but as you can see, some not. Even when everything was kept in check. I’m also one who deeply despises scum bag scammers as well and only wish to grow Happily and Knowledgabley. Happy Growing!
Advise… Ditch the recirc and use Coco
I use a coco peat perlite soil mixture in 5 gallon buckets but bought the recirc system hoping all the time I spend watering would be over and so I could go out of town on jobs. I have a ebb tubing setup I bought for outdoor with water faucet timer I’m thinking of now converting it to an indoor rig on the same pot soil. Basically a top feed drip system.
@Ozghost I had originally planned on getting the Gelato deal pack when they changed the deal to the Banana Kush. Kinda wish they hadn’t changed it after chatting with you but hopefully I can steer clear of some of the struggles you had with the strain. I’ll definitely be getting some Gelato to grow down the road though.
