Branches look chewed or diseased

She’s about 4 or 5 weeks old. Strain…Gary Peyton
Was healthy up until about a week ago. Don’t know if something is eating at branches or maybe a disease from inside. Giving GH Flora series 3 note routine. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you in advance

@OGIncognito @kaptain3d @Caligurl maybe they will chime in.
Looks like a cat has been chasing a squirrel up and down your stalks :joy::rofl:
Sorry not funny, but kinda funny :green_heart::metal:t2:

:thinking::thinking: @lilbia420smoke looks like some rough LST treatment…possibly rubbed the outer layer of the stalk off unless you have a cat and squirrels as SC mentioned , regardless doesn’t look concerning. Enjoy a little humor from the Grow Fam Growmie it’s in fun :love_you_gesture:

I’m inclined to agree.
The thinner wire plant tie in the last pic that’s around the bottom is quite loose and the edges are sharper than you’d expect.
Might be chewed on too.

Could be Voles or mice , if it was a cut worm you would have leaves chewed through. Small varmint of some kind.

Looks like some small rodent took a liking to your plant…

If it was mine, i’d put some Tabasco, or any other really spicy sauce, on the stem to try to discourage the culprit. :hot_pepper:

Something definitely gnawing at it. Voles don’t normally chew above ground, they mainly eat roots plus you’d see their holes nearby. A rat is a possibility as is grasshoppers. Grasshoppers will eat the stalk but I don’t see obvious damage on the leaves. I’d set a live trap or a large rat trap nearby…

The other critters that chew above ground are ground squirrels… again you’d see their holes nearby.

Nothing a little teflon tape cant fix. Sometimes grasshoppers can do that but not that bad. Usually they just eat leaves but last year they ate the bark off a lot of the branches on one of my plants. I wrapped all the chewed branches with teflon tape.

Here it is before I harvested it.

That looks like an animal, some kind of rodent, maybe, is chewing on it. Id wrap it and try to figure what’s doing it.

Yeah id do the tape wrap, then BATTED traps, IN AND AROUND THE AREA, maybe the nasty hot sauce in well placed area, even put “food” out with hot sause on it, make it so they bypass your salad bar, go else weres …great thing is these plants are hardy, but heart breaking to nuture your girls only to learn your not the only one lovin your girls…
