BP 2500 for a 2x4 grow tent

I’m about to set up my first grow tent which is a 2x4x6 and as soon as all of my orders come in I’ll start germination to set up for my grow…I have a BP 2500 coming and specs say it can handle my tent size…is anyone familiar with or ever used this style of LED lighting for their grow and if so what were your results …I looked at some review videos after I ordered the light and looks like it’s really made for a smaller tent and doesn’t quite cut it for a 2x4x6 so I was thinking about ordering another so I can have two identical lights …does anyone have any thoughts they would like to share or recommendations I’d appreciate some brutally honest feedback…thanks in advance folks…

Looks to be a 250 watt light, but it is built with Samsung 2835 diodes. These are old technology. You will want a light built with Samsung LM301 diodes for the best results.

I wouldn’t trust BP. They claim 2.7Umol/J efficacy, which cannot be accomplished with older technology diodes. In bring their other claims into question.

Probably not the best light you could have purchased, but not the worst either. Ordering another would likely do a pretty good job for you. I would just wonder if first purchase was returnable so that you could get 1 light that would do what you needed?

I’m limited on what I can buy…most of the good lighting for cannibas are well over $1000 …if I knew I could get something decent for around $500 I’d take a chance but I’m trying to get everything else knowing that the lighting is important but decent plant medium and a good soil reader and pH readings ect. and all of the other peripherals are important also …so I have a limited budget on what I’m able to spend on lighting alone :pensive:…I’m trying to decide would it be better to get another one for around $160 to double whatever this one can do or can I get one fixture for about $500 that can do better than the both BP 2500’s combined or change my lighting technology altogether…??.. I don’t know enough about the science of lighting to make that determination and I’m stuck twiddling my thumbs on this one…it’s a tough one for me being my first grow and wanting to get most things right on the first go round…I just want to be able to fill my 2x4x6 with plants and have adequate lighting to support them to accomplish a very healthy bud harvest…I’m sure with your wealth of knowledge and experience any suggestions would prompt me into making a good solid decision…thanks in advance dbrn32…

Please can I make a suggestion on a killer light, at an absolute steal? I promise you won’t regret it, and it can handle your tent without even trying there are a few of us that I know of using this. You can’t go wrong.

$399 is a ridiculous deal. Pulse you can use the coupon code “DUDE” for additional off. Pretty sure it’s dude.

it is dude!

That’s what I was getting at. I would rather see you get into a good light than double down on something mediocre. You end up spending nearly as much and have to draw excess power to get to reasonable light intensity, and then when more money is available you end up replacing anyway.

Hlg-350r posted above is a great light. Even bigger than what you would technically need. Horticulture lighting group has other 2x4 solutions as well.

Thanks guys I won’t open the box that my new light is in and I’ll ask for a refund and buy this one that’s recommended…thanks so much…I’m not in a hurry when it comes down to getting what’s best I don’t mind waiting for it…

Please don’t think that I’m ungrateful but while I was trying to get to the site that sells the HLG 350R I ran into this ROI E420 for just a few dollars more plus brand new I don’t care if the item is new or not but I just wanted to see a comparison…what do you guys think…!!!

I’m not trying to be too cheap but my budget will cover anything under $500 so I’m trying to get the best bang for my dollars plus I don’t want to have to worry about an upgrade anytime soon…I hope you guys understand my situation…

Ok …I noticed the one that I was looking at doesn’t specify whether it has the new style LED’s LM 301H so I’ll stop messing around and get the one that you guys recommend …sorry just wanted to be sure I was getting the best…

The grower choice e420 is a very nice light. the problem for you it is 35" square. That would be a tough fit in a 24" tent.
If I had a 2x4 one light at the top of my list to look at is a different HLG the 320W XL QB V Rspec.
35L x 8"w, 350 watts, Flower footprint 2.5’ x 5’ or 2’ x 4’ - Just what the doctor ordered. Current sale price $412 less 10% DUDE discount. $370 - you gotta be kidding. Order direct from them no sales tax unless you are unfortunate enough to live in Ohio (kidding). I put together three 260 kits. I think just about anyone can handle it if I can. You will not be replacing this light.

A 350r? Not a great option to flower 4x4. The shape isn’t the greatest and is a little on the small side.

Beardless correct. Its a nice light, but won’t fit into a 2x4.

Probably more suitable for a 3x3? Killer in a 2x5. Love it in my 2x4

3x4, 3x5, 2x5. I think would be a little tight in 3x3.
