Watching
Iâm watching toooooooo
Iâm watching, tooâŚwatching her do her thang! The crucible now has almost pure oil! Only about an hour to go!
I will give a full pictorial update when itâs all finished.
@greenthunder, thought youâd be interested.
@blackthumbbetty Iâm interested in this thread of yours also, will be watching. ![]()
Well, mine isnât finished yet.
Thanks!
Remember, this is the 2nd process of the trim, so itâs gonna be off-colored. I expect stuff that hasnât been broken down for 11 days will produce good looking oil.
I wonât be able to remove it from the crucible until my wife goes to sleep, so itâll be a few hours before I can get a pic of the final double processed trim run.
Tomorrow, I plan on doing the decarbed CBD trim.
It took me about 10 times to where I think I like what I get. Had about 3 times it âbumpedâ and had to pour it all back into crucible, clean off the inside of the tank and start over.
Oh, no! That sounds like a nightmare! ![]()
Yeah, this first batch turned out pretty much how I expected it to. No complaints, but canât wait to do a nice, clean run.
I ended up with 10ml of tincture and 2grams of black goo. I have found the goo makes excellent Tootsie Rolls, so Iâm going to make 8 Tootsie Rolls with those 2 grams of goo. Last tincture goo Tootsie Rolls I made were mind-blowingly, earth-shakingly strong, so Iâm hoping for a repeat.
Awesome thread black thumb, now I need one.
Question, would this be a good almost RSO technique then finish in a beaker on hot/stir plate? And how hard is it to capture the goo?
For collecting the alcohol, itâd be great for RSO.
The goo floats, so itâs very easy to skim off. The fluid left packs a big punch, too. A twofer, really: tincture and hash oil.
OK, doing a CBD run using those 2oz of Casino Cookies trim I decarbed yesterday.
Did a 7 minute wash, then triple filtered it before processing it through the Source. Thereâs a lot of liquid, so this will probably take all dayâŚrather than all week. Canât beat that!
Top to bottom:
-First filter through milk bag
-Second through coffee filter
-Third through slow filter
Any of you who make QWET and other extractions, if youâre not familiar with the Buchner filter, I highly recommend checking them out. I am so glad I watched a few videos and saw how freaking easy they make straining. You do need a vacuum to make them work, but you can buy hand pumps if you donât have a vacuum.
Man, if I had known about this funnel, QWET making would have been so much easier! The straining and filtering is the messiest, hand crampy-est, and most difficult thing about QWET, if you ask me.
Just received a reply form the Extractcraft folksâŚthe sale on refurbished units has ended.
They did offer a $50 off coupon which was a nice gesture.
@merlin44, if you are not going to use the coupon can I?
@blackthumbbetty Iâm all over that filter!
If you can breakup the cost "Maybe $$$ some " a Rotovap is better.

Youâll still need a vac-pump and plumb the chiller.
I zoomed in on this one and it looks like you may need to learn Chinese to run it
I found mine for $486, including shipping.
