Best way to add CO2?

Always looking for ways to improve the next grow! Just built a 6x6x8 insulated grow room and I’m feeling like I’m ready to add some CO2 since I have more of a sealed environment with an actual room. What’s the best way to do this though? A few questions I had below:

Does the tank get mounted from the ceiling? Or is it better to blow it in via duct somehow?

My exhaust is at the top of my tent, if the CO2 is also at the top, wouldn’t the CO2 just exhaust right out before it reaches the canopy?

What equipment do I need? CO2 controller and tank?

Where is the best place to get a tank?

Thanks yall!

Creating an environment where a plant can even use excess CO2 is expensive and challenging. I don’t know any experienced growers who even bother.

For CO2 to be effective you need:

-A sealed grow space
-Environmental controls to manage high humidity and temperature
-Double the light needed to grow conventionally (1,300+ µmol)
-Gas monitor to maintain correct partial pressure
-Oxygen to root mass to prevent suffocation of the plant

If you don’t have all of these in place it would really be a waste of time to try to deal with it. Also; most dedicated CO2 users run their plants in some kind of hydroponics so they can push insane nutrient loads.

In short you don’t need it to grow good cannabis. If you are technically-minded and have a large budget then CO2 might be for you.

I’ll add that a former member of this forum lost a friend to CO2 poisoning from his grow space.

I will add that even if you successfully implement supplemental CO2, the most you can expect is about 10% increase in yield. Bruce Bugbee discusses this in detail.

I’m with @MidwestGuy and @merlin44. The cost and health concern outweigh the return. At best would only be beneficial during veg :love_you_gesture:

It’s more cost-effective to maximize existing grow environment. Get all of your parameters square in the middle of the sweet spot and you’ll do a pound per plant.

I just talk to mine, plenty of hot CO2 rich air coming out of my mouth :call_me_hand:t2:

I’m with the others. Don’t bother adding CO2, there’s plenty in the air we breath and it’s a lot of stuffing around trying to add more to a room.

For the plants to use more CO2 (supplemental CO2) they need heaps of light and nutrients. If there isn’t enough light and nutrients, the extra CO2 won’t be taken up and you could end up suffering from CO2 poisoning.

CO2 is a colorless, odorless, tasteless, heavy gas and sinks to the ground. If you want to add it, use fans to circulate it around the room and make sure you have plenty of airflow coming into the rest of your house from outside. I would also invest in a CO2 meter.
