Best Strain for Pain?

Planning my next grow and am wondering, can anyone point me in the direction of a strain that is good for pain relief?

Been dealing with some major back issues but i refuse to take any prescriptions the Dr has offered me.
I hate how freely these Doctors distribute pills.

Thanks in advance!

We like gg4. Hindu Kush and Cream and Cheese. The cream is a 1 to 1 thc/cbd. About 18- 22% or so of each. Very VERY good for pain. Smooth. Not overpowering high. Relaxing and numbing body wise. Seedsman has it. Pure medical use for sure. BIG yield.

Im growing out 2 CBD plants also. They were freebies included in my Nerds bundle. Ironically they were named Trump and Ivanka…:rofl::rofl: they were flipped with Miss Daisy so they should be ready by the end of Jan. Ive never grown out CBD before so this is a different experience for me. I was told to let them go a few weeks longer and they would produce a touch of thc to go along with the CBD.

The only CBD strain I’ve smoked was called Elektra. I got it as a freebee.

I use CBD powder to treat inflammation. I take ~50mg each day before bed.

How was the experience ?

No THC at all, but it tasted okay. It has since gone stale and I threw it out.

Interestingly, it was a freebee from a mushroom spore purchase. They give little 5g baggies of it when you buy spores. I ended up with about an ounce of it from spore purchases over the years.

I deal with back pain on the daily. Back in the day i WAS a pill head. Fell down that rabbit hole a few years until it caught up with me. I dropped everything cold turkey and now all i do is THC. A few good strains i have found that help suppress the pain and help with the inflammation is Grandaddy Purple, Amnezia Haze, and Sunset Sherbert. Those are 3 strains that are available through ILGM and all 3 produced about a 1/4 to 1/2 lb a piece with proper LST during veg.

Appreciate the input y’all. Definitely will be growing some of the strains everyone has suggested. :+1:

I started looking into this for chronic pain. So i know where you’re coming from.

It always depends on your preferences. I know folks that want to just get some sleep while others want to mow the lawn or work out without pain. For sleepers, They go heavier indica and let the plants flower for later for that weighted “narc” effect.

Whatever strain you look at, the flowering period of “8-10” weeks indicates the 8=more energetic, cerebral while the longer 10= the less erratic and more “mellowy couch lock” according to what ive read. Of course the Sat vs Ind will still be relevant. An indica dominant (say 80/20) will always be a more sleepy strain than a sativa harvested late.

A good near 50/50 hybrid could be ideal for pain relief while still being physically functional.

Gold leaf was the first strain that i felt my back pain literally melt away as i was sitting on the couch. Shes about 60/40 indica dom.

Ive also had good luck with Apple Fritter (auto in my case). True 50/50.

In order to get more cbd, i just grew a Blueberry CBD and now i can make my own blends to suit my needs.

Raspberry cough (seedsman) is a very awake strain, so getting things done while not being in pain is great. Same with Bruce Banner and Green Crack. All those are more 70/30 sativa or higher.

Im a few days away from harvesting Maui Wowie which has a higher CBD (AROUND 5%) than most strains.

Critical Mass is another that has a 5% CBD.

I’ll close with this, i learned hot to infuse oil and honey so that i could find the right amount for pain. Has helped many folks in a similar situation.

My go to every time is Fruity Pebbles. I have psoriatic arthritis, so autoimmune pain fun. I like flavor and the pain relief is instant and helps me sleep too.
