Im just finishing off my first grow and it’s not too great, the plants are lanky and haven’t formed too many buds probably because of light or because there are 3 plants but I want to try my next grow with better quality seeds.
My set up:
450W Viparspectra LED [200w actual]
120x60x150CM Tent
70% coco 30% perlite [4 gal pots]
Rhino filter
T6 cloudline extractor fan
GH trio + calmag
Im thinking of doing autoflowers preferably and am wondering what seeds might be good for my set up, i have been looking into girl scout cookies and am wondering if my light will be powerful enough to give me good results from 2 plants?
changing to an HPS bulb is an option if that is recommended I will definitely do that.
The yield i am looking for is roughly 100-200 grams each grow and am wondering if i would be able to achieve this easily with girl scout cookies and if i am better off with a 250w hps or my current LED?
Welcome to ILGM forum. Generally speaking if you want to increase yields then you should consider upgrading to better LEDs. I started out with 2 450 Viparspectra’s. First grow was 4 autos. They did good during Veg. Actually looked great during Flower. What I found was that the buds didn’t have any density. Wasn’t keeping close track of grow so not exactly sure of total weight. Maybe got 3 ounces off of 4 plants. A lot factors go into yields but one of the most important is lights. If you can afford upgrading to better LEDs then you should seriously consider it. If that is a option then this is the best place to get guidance on what lights to get. Top end LEDs will cost more up front but you’ll save electricity and get fat dense buds
I had good success as a first time grower with ILGM White Widow auto and Blueberry auto.
If my conversion of cm to inches is correct your space is roughly 48"X24 ie long and narrow. Maybe consider adding another light to get better coverage and more watts per square foot.
