Ahh the worm can reopens. Lotsa brands. Samsung 301b and 301h diodes are leading atm. Lots out there. Some of the best customer service is HLG and Cali lightworks. Gonna depend on price point you seek and whether the company is reputable. I have some enfun boards match HLG. Cheaper build. Have a couple sideking that are good. I do like my 550r best though. I feel you will get plenty feedback and a lot of choices. All i can say is research your needs and be happy when purchase. More is better in this instance. A forever till it dies light pays off. Bigger means expansion when ready. Dimmer needed i think. HLG are modular which sells them to me.

Hard to say there is a best light out there. I would say there is definitely an elite performing class. Then there are quite a few companies that have copied thier designs and try to sell similar looking products at lower cost. Then there a whole bunch of lights that manufacturers make big claims and performance falls way short of said claims. Then you will find “grow lights” that are really only capable of growing a small tray of microgreens.
For the most part, you’re going to get what you pay for. There are a few lights that are way overpriced for the performance provided. And maybe some differences in styling that could make one more ideal for your space over another. How tall is your 5x5? What size hps are you using now? And what are your typical dry harvest weights?

I’ve got 2 5x5s. I would definitely recommend a bar array type fixture over the boards. If you’re going with a single fixture.

As Minnesota has now passed rec and growing, and has available licenses for craft/cottage businesses, my sister is going into commercial production. As a gift, she will receive my two Gorilla HPS commercial lights to get her business going. To that end, I just purchased a refurbed HLG 650 rspec. Any advice on changes I need to make would be great. I havent grown with LEDs before, except in veg stage. The room is 12x8, 6 ft high ceiling (which kept me from realisitcally getting the scorpion) with the actual grow area apprx 4x6ft. Thanks in advance for the advice

Shouldn’t be too big of difference. The led lights don’t typically heat leaves as much, so most will go from targeting canopy temps in the range of 80 or a little higher. If you vegged with hps youe plants probably won’t have as much node spacing either.
