Whats Your Go to Brand for LED Lighting when growing? Veg or Flower. I see most go with spider farmer or mars hydro whats ur pick?

I’m with team HLG. I run a 350R from seedling to harvest. There are other quality brands, but I’ve still never heard anyone say they regretted getting an HLG light. @Freebirdmikes I’ve been hearing a lot of good things about green beams from other growers.

I have a 650R HLG and a LIKESUN 330xl in my flower tent and my spider 2000 in veg, seedlings. I came from a whole bunch of purple and suggested directions from here.

Get a refurbished one while one of their sales is going on and it’s 1/2 price of a new one. My refurbed 350R was $409. If I had gotten it on sale it would’ve been $300. Can’t beat that light for price. No way.

There very good lights same as HLG r spec I’ve read. just not the same warranty or customer service in my opinion
I believe they’re similar to the last years model. It’s got LM301B diodes, far red 660nm, and a Meanwell driver, remote mount driver makes it nice for tents since you can put it outside of the tent, and the heat sync is nice and thick. Works like a dream. Don’t get me wrong, if I could have an hlg I would. But this is as close as it gets imho.
Expecting delivery my first HLG350R, soon.
Previous purchases embarrasingly, China Cheapies or Vipar Spectras purchased in 2014-19.
Ask me in 4 months, and I will have an answer, which is better, 2Kwatts vipars (actual draw 1000watts) or 2x350Rs, or 1x700R, from HLG.
warranty or customer service in my opinion deciding factor.
Also get to compare PPFD/PPF/LUX maps and readings.
I Gots to know, which is best for my grow.

Veg, anything works. A lightbulb in my bathroom has been growing clones for the better part of six months. It’s slow and the plants are “alive” but not “thriving.”
My veg tent has a BloomSpect, a Vivosun, and an old Blurple light - Philzon I think. I don’t give my veg plants much power quite intentionally. I run too much at once to need a fast turnaround time.
Now, for flowering, the order of operations is this
Horticulture Lightning Group, specially the Diablo boards
chilLED Tech
AC Infinity - Iongrid fixtures only
Green Beams
HLG - any other fixture beyond the Diablos
KingBrite
AC Infinity Ionboards, Mars Hydros, Spider Farmers
Cheap “full spectrum” Amazon lights
Blurples with the veg/bloom switches.
I have HLGs (Diablo and not), a Green Beams, 2 KingBrites, and some miscellaneous other stuff. In terms of flowers that are constantly impressing me, it’s the Green Beams.
Now, it’s comparable to the bud under the HLG (mix of Diablo and a non-Diablo, she gets shared light from both fixtures)

HLG 650r Diablo. Growing some wicked awesome stuff now. However, it is a beast and burned my GSCE… Stunned her pretty bad and that was on setting 8 of 10. I keep it at 4 for veg and max 7 for flower. I think it needs more room to glow.
