so I have 4- tube lights that are 40watts each, if I put them together the output would be the 260+160? For 420 watts? How many plants would that support?

If one light is LED(260 Watts total) and the others are fluorescent strip lights(160 Watts total).
Should I put my plants under the LED, adjusting to both settings, blue, or red first or the the fluorescent first, or both equally adjusted under? They’re 2 wks old.
The veg (blue lights) stage is 140 watts on the LED and the Bloom mode (red lights) produces the 120 watts on the LED, The fluorescent is 160. I think I am catching on… But now I need to figure out what lights are best early on for yield.

You should be running both veg and bloom switches on throughout the grow. Unsure on the fluorescents. Depends on what spectrum they are

2600 k/1600 lumens per bulb, but I heard these lights drop in efficiency over time is that true?

Oh gotcha what’s the price range for one of those?

@Blue89 $369 from the place ordered mine from. Not cheap but lights is the most important thing. All else doesn’t
matter as much. But lights are King of the growing world. :+1::+1::+1:

Sweet not to bad I honestly was expecting to pay more but that’s not to bad instead of getting 2 550rspec I’ll just get 2 of them with my 3 leds on bloom only for the red supplement and I should be A-1👌🏻

Right on brother I appreciate the kindness and the help with that bud I guess I’m gonna have to sell some lights now or just run one massive operation but then I would have to hire someone but I don’t have the time for that right now lol so I will just wait on that til I retire lmao

Yeah those lights are huge, nice, and expensive. For beginners and non dealers, it’s way out of the price range tbh. I’m trying to find something for under 300. I’ll have to save for a little just to get anything. I’ve been looking at hps/mh lights but I dont like how hot they get. I’m not looking to get max quantities, but def get atleast 20-28 grams a plant. My last grow (1 plant) only gave me 16 grams with 260 watts led light, not sure on lumens. I have 10 plants now, I need to get rid of about 4 but coming to terms with pulling perfect babies isnt ever as easily done as it is said. So now I want to support the grow.

Mars hydro TS series might work for you … so will HPS/MH if you get a cool tube.

You can’t get them on amazon because the 260 has some assembly required amazon only has pre assembled hlg ones. If you want to buy from amazon you’ll have to get the hlg 300

Oh ok gotcha

Is wattage or PAR more important when shopping for a light? My understanding is that it is more about PAR than Watts.

You’re correct. Wattage is just the amount of power a fixture consumes. It doesn’t tell you the efficiency of the fixture. You could have a 600 true watt led fixture putting out 1.9 µmol/J and a 135 true watt led putting out 2.68 µmol/J (hlg 135 rspec). Comparing ppfd data and checking the manufacturer specs is highly recommended before purchase. Not all leds are created equal.

Thanks. Through much research I thought that was the case. My first light was a Watts buy vs PAR. It works ok, but no doubt will loose some yield. I am looking for a new light for an expanded tent and will buy PAR instead moving forward.

Why run both?

Because the advertised output for those lights are GREATLY exaggerated. You need all the power the lights can give.

@FirstTimer1 scroll up almost to top on June 20 or just tap this dudes icon on the top right here.

I use these 1000W LED lights, they are great as price and as specifications. They are foldable and easy to transport or move around. They are specially designed for growers to push the envelope with high PPFD cultivation practices, and high efficacy up to 3.1 umol/J.

It is with Full Spectrum, Full Spectrum +UV, Full Spectrum + FR, LED Brand – Samsung / OSRAM LEDS, with built-in dimmer- 40-100% & External Controller of RJ11-4C 0-100%, the light distribution is 120°, with incredible lifetime of L90:>54,000 hrs., L70:>78,000 hrs.

Let me know if are interested and I can share more for them.
