is foxtailing pretty badly. poor thang has had a pretty ruff life as I learn. It was also stunted when it was young and had to be transplanted. It seems very close to harvest so I may just chop it today. I did raise my light. one of my other plants is also in late flower but isnt showing any signs yet
Fox tails are typically indicative to heat, light stress or both and could be genetics. Moving those under a stronger light can also create a stronger appetite for nutrients. I’m a numbers dude and always refer to my run off numbers when the issue is not obvious
Welcome , looking at the 1st picture I think I would skip on the chop today an give her a little more time. @OGIncognito has you covered.
Good luck finishing up.
The ventilation system for my tent was to small and it got up to 95F before I caught it. possibly exposing them to high temps for up to 12 hours. I did set my grow light up 2 inches lower at 12 inches when I moved everything. Also about that time I quit giving this plants nutrients and it been on just distilled water for about 12 days now. i didnt flush it(as in lots of water at once) i just stopped giving it nutes figuring I was about 2 weeks out from havest and I use chemical nutes. That last one or combination of them all may be what caused it i guess. im new to growing this is my first grow ever. will it continue to foxtail further? I read it doesnt effect the quality alot as far as effects go and mostly is just an appearance issue? should I give it some kind of nutrients?
How long has she been since it first started flowering? Except for the foxtails, she looks like she has done some swelling and is almost done. Have you checked the trics yet? Don’t mean to contradict anyone. JMHO.
Good luck and keep’em growin!
13 weeks since she started flowering. on tricomes Im inexperienced but i figure maybe 70% cloudy. I dont see any amber ones yet. I want the more energetic effect. It for sure has more white pistols now than it did because of the foxtailing.
Thing about plants when they foxtail, not all the time but, a lot of the time, where the buds are foxtailing, that is new growth. Therefore, the trics won’t be as ripe.
Try to get down near the middle of the bud, near the inside of a bud, if that makes sense. Or the oldest part of the bud.
I find it easier to cut a small piece off the bud to examine it on a table under a scope.
IMO, you are in the window of harvest just from the swelling looks of your buds.
Always consider the advise and or opinion of everyone. Just know you are the one that makes the final decision.
I for sure appreciate everyones advice on here. It has been a great help and one of the many enjoyable part of growing. A handheld usb microscope is for sure on my wish list. I wish i could take accurate pics to post and get advice on. Ive been threatening this plant with harvest for at least a few weeks now. Lol I have a silly irrationally fear that until its havested it could potentially go to complete shit. Growing has been more challenging than I anticipated. at least as far as keeping them healthy. im hoping that in time I will get better at feedkng and lights. I for sure want to use the less is more approach. I dont see myself ever pushing for max yeilds just want to keep them healthy and thriving
I went ahead and pulled the trigger and chopped her down. i feel like she was ready enough to suit me. like I said I nearly killed this plant once nursed it back to life. my first ever harvest even with the foxtailing I feel super great about it. It was almost sad as silly as that sounds. bitter sweet
First ever drying. hopefully im not making any critical mistakes. The room they are in stays dark 95% of time. I trimmed away larger fan leaves and vut and seperated the branches. they were pretty close together. this room stays about 78F and RH57%. should i adjust anything? run cieling fan
