@Shadegrown Happy belated Cannaversary!
You… think … I’m cool?
Well I’m glad you at least enjoyed the peace and calm.
Thanks @Twelve1
Bruce Banner. I didn’t even consider the abbreviation could be confusing lol. Thanks for the birthday wishes and condolences.
Ahhhhhh! I haven’t been keeping up too well on journals, so I’m at least partly, if not fully, to blame, ha! Well then, all the more reason for you to grow the Hulkberry photo!
So the last couple grows haven’t produced much and I have yet to get a yield that will carry me through between. I ordered coco coir this morning and plan to get some jacks soon to prep for my next one. I’m a bit hesitant to begin without a reliable mold preventative. Lost Coast did not keep bud rot away so I don’t have any faith in it at this point. With so many choices out there and varying opinions on what works best I’m a bit reluctant to just pick one since I’m on a tight budget. I’m hoping for some input on this before spending. Purecrop 1 and sns244 are frequently recommended but I don’t want to just pick one randomly like I did with the LC. I was thoroughly sterilizing the tent before and during my grow combined with LC treatments and still had mold showing up. Any suggestions for a PROVEN treatment in a mold prone environment? @kaptain3d? TIA.
Well… if you have to have proof… no.
Sorry the last few grows have been lackluster. I think getting back indoors will help. My vote is for the PureCrop1… but that just based on reviews by other trusted members. I’ll be watching to see what you find out. I should have a load of trim for you when Bluster finishes. Stay growing brother!
What really helped for me was a combination of Hypochlorous Acid and defoliation, airflow. But even with that, it’s a constant battle…
Thanks for the acid tip!
I had not heard of that. Preesh Kaptain.
Thanks @kaptain3d. Check and check on defol and airflow. I’ll look into the acid. You mentioned an institutional grade air sterilization packet once quite a while ago on your thread but I don’t remember the name. Would that be the acid? Thinking it was something else.
The first one I checked into. I think the sns244 is capable too,(it’s on the popular Jk’s 321 mixing chart) but all of the top recommendations are not cheap so I was shopping opinions. Thanks for the suggestion. I ended up smoking the last trimming bag:face_in_clouds:
I think I will freeze and sift the next so I won’t do that again
Should have done that with the last. Lots of crystals smeared on the inside of the bag after I burned through it. The buds were just great but the fan leaves not so much lol.
That was ProKure, it was a suggestion by @budbrother. It should kills all spores in the room it’s in…
The hypochlorous acid I used was AGrowlyte. It helps prevent molds and wpm…
Yes!! Thanks @kaptain3d. I suspect both the ductwork and the crawl space need it to get the job done right.
I cant recall your training methods, but ive found more frequent training has workes for me. A sort of combination of manifold/mainline/extra topping. Really spreading the plant apart and getting a lot more bud sites. Then the lollipopping. You definitely lose out on the nice monster colas, but in my experience i got a lot more solid smaller bud sites that didnt get the chance to battle the bud rot. As much as i love the huge monster colas, im always afraid so start searching the insides for bud rot. Air flow is also huge for me since i grow in the basement, summertime humidity is always an uphill battle even with a dehumidifier going 24/7.
I tend to agree @brownsfan100
Big buds make me worry these days. I have done what you suggested before when I had a photo in the tent but I don’t manhandle the autos quite so much. Good news is that the next run or two will be photo. Thanks for your input.
I haven’t settled into a routine yet. I’m still doing it a little different every time. The best two training examples would be the White Fire Gelato and Banana Kush. I didn’t know what a manifold was but the wfg was pretty close to it. The bk was extreme lollipop and had some big rockets but a bad case of rot. The small popcorn cones from the wfg were the best I have done so far. Backs up your point perfectly.
Yeah I smoked the trim last season and decided to spare myself this year.
Good to hear the buds were good. I’m still curing since I was still holding. I plan on digging into them Mid-October for Halloween. Thanks for the heads up on the sns244. I hadn’t heard about it.
Was frosty AF!!
That is an awesome training job right there. Hope I can replicate that one day.
Still nothing much going on here. I ordered a coco brick and took the time to buffer about a 1/4 th of it today. The tent has been moved from the closet to the corner of the room so it’s going to be easier to access the plants. I did a thorough cleaning and sanitizing in the process and closed it with a bucket of chlorine tablets sitting open inside. Hopefully it will do the same job as a prokure treatment in this small space. Anyone who’s ever opened a bucket of 3” chlorine tablets knows that holding your breath is a great idea so that is the operative principle here. It’s a lot out of the box but it sounded good in my mind and it is all the budget allows for. Still saving for nutrients so that will dictate my actual startup timeline. I’m just going to hand water at first but I will be able to diy a res and automate it later on, at least that is my plan. I’m still leaning towards hulkberry but also thinking about an auto in a 2 gallon as a companion or possibly an ethos master kush clone from a friend. Happy growing everyone.
