Beechnut Pharm Tales

Welcome. I wasn’t sure since I didn’t buy them myself. They were originally for easy privacy curtains on the deck.

Sweet! Are you making gummies with those?

Maybe? Still waiting on the gummies from the last batch of oil infusion I made
Mrs believes mct is too strong after she had probably too much at once so she’s been reluctant. I have to use cold pressed unrefined to make hers first but I plan to make a little for my own use with the mct. After hearing her concerns I took a tablespoon of the stuff and it was a good strong but still enjoyable buzz for me. She said it was a 16 hour ride for her but she didn’t measure the dose and sounded like she took a drink straight out of the jar :jar: :face_with_spiral_eyes:

Usually but the anecdote was from a few weeks back when I made oil with the Deliziosa using MCT for the first time. Regular coconut oil is about 15% MCT naturally and is the carrier for the thc. Food grade fractionated coconut oil MCT is 100% and a single infusion with this was stronger than any previous including triple infusion of over an ounce into a single cup of oil.

Holy crap!! No wonder she’s gun shy now.:joy::rofl::sunglasses::metal:t2:

Not enough to keep out of it though lol. Worried the gummies would be too strong for her and others and why they didn’t get made. Brings me back to today’s agenda, infuser coconut oil. Roughly half of the Pineapple Runtz is steeping and the other half will be switched out in a couple hours. Should end up with a strength she’s more familiar and comfortable with. Swapping in fresh decarbed once or twice during the process is my way of making “double “and “triple “ infusion. Triple is the most I have ever done since I like to give each infusion step about 2-3 hours before swapping in fresh material so a triple takes up to 10 hours. I use a mini crock pot and digital probe thermometer for cooking and barbecuing. I try to maintain 160-170F range. Starting with 2 cups of oil, I expect to get 1 1/2 to 1 1/4 cups of finished product.

Forgot to mention I also added a tablespoon of sunflower lethecin to the oil after it melted down and before adding the flower. It should be two tbs, one per cup, but it seems we need to restock and it will still work well enough. First time or two I did this without adding any to the oil before infusing because I didn’t understand it did more than just keeping it from separating out of the gelatin. It helps with the bonding process in the infusion and helps the liver process more efficiently. My explanation of the liver part might not accurately describe how exactly it works but the results are basically stronger and longer lasting.

Also worth mentioning on a related note, I decided to experiment with that strong MCT last night and made four 3” sugar cookies (dough leftover from Christmas cookie party and frozen) and before they completely cooled I used a silicone basting brush to lightly dose the top of each cookie then added the sugar topping. Wife and I both had one cookie along with the usual evening tokes and both of us found the dosage was good. Makes me happy because as a practical matter, getting heavy handed with the oil in this particular situation would make a soggy unappealing cookie so it is easier to keep the dosage down to a comfortable level. It also didn’t overtake the flavor. Another reason I like MCT better, no coconut taste.

I got say you’re in pretty deep in the infusions mix. I’ve never made any. I’ve eaten some edibles but they were all infused butter. That MCT sounds exciting.:metal:t2:

I wanted to share what I’ve been up to with everybody, especially the basting idea. Figure it could be a useful trick if anyone wants to make a quick edible on the fly or have both medicated and non medicated baked goods from a single batch.

Infusion is a great simple and relatively cheap way to convert your trimming and larf and other sub par buds into a versatile product that is easily stored in a jar in your fridge. I highly recommend it. It’s kinda like making tea except with oil instead of water.

Hadn’t considered that but that’s awesome.
I’m definitely going to need to do something with trim this year. Maybe we can work something out.:sunglasses::metal:t2:

Hope everyone has a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend. We will be. Liberally basted with canna MCT, from scratch peanut butter cookies x4 and a good supply of non medicated ones (another couple trays not pictured).

Decided not to start up another indoor grow to help manage cooling costs. I had a 2 space planter box that I built for my daughter a couple years ago that was not being used and I have been tossing my used soil in a plastic trash can outside for a few grows. Decided to try a low maintenance approach and made a shallow trench filled with sand to catch the condensate drain water from the ac and placed the box over the spot. Drilled several 1/2 inch holes in the bottom for roots to grow through. Dropped the last GDP in my collection and a Bruce Banner and put them outside covered to keep the light off. I still have at least a half bottle of lost coast and access to some free azamax if needed. After filling the box I mixed in perlite mycos and grow dots. Didn’t take any pics yet but I’ll get a couple up soon.

OQ’s coming outside to play!! That’s what I’m talking about. Two killer strains too. That Banner could get huge bro. The box sounds awesome. I love the ac water. :sunglasses::metal:t2:
