Hey man I grow the photo version, i quit growing auto. But I love the banana kush it is a high thc and is a fairly fast hitting indica. It was a easy plant to grow, and had a short to medium internodal spacing with lots of almond sized nuggets up the branches. Good luck man

I’m growing the photoperiod variety right now. She’s got a really funky skunk when I prune her, I don’t get bananas at all… Definitely a proud Indica, big trike heads, wide leaves, tight spacing.

I don’t like to bash autos, but in my opinion i had too many loose weird flowers with most autos. I did have great yields but airy buds. But i also had a couple strains that produced nice solid nuggets. I gave away all my autos and now only grow indica strain photos, i always get beautiful dense buds that way lol

I grew ILGM Banana Kush last summer.

The good: I yielded a crap load of pretty nice flower from two plants.

The bad: poor mold resistance.

@Deez i dont like that lol, i appreciate the heads up

I was disappointed in that regard and lost nearly a whole damn plant and it was Late July. I expect a ton of bud rot when the nighttime temps are dropping into the low 40s and below and daytime highs in the 50s and humid af like in the fall but when it’s 65 at night and 85 during the day mid summer Ive never had the experience of bud rot. I’ve only grown BK That once this past summer so take my limited experience for what it’s worth.

I do agree with @Dennis62 about autos although I do think they have their place in my garden.

There’s a good chance I’ll grow a couple more BKs this spring outdoor if the weather gets warm sooner than usual.

i have to think about it now, i dont want mold issues, but i may try it, it gets really humid here, if i do grow, i think i will do it in cooler weather so i can control everything better.

i wanna do an out door grow but ill have to put it down by end my property, dang dogs love to dig in the fenced in area

Banana Kush photo version is one of my all time favorites

With the mold it’s really not about heat but humidity. We were having 85 degrees and 95% humidity all damn day and 70 and 99% at night. It was uncommonly hot and humid for the mountains.

It could be 90+ and low humidity and these BKs would probably love it.

There’s a lot of strains that have good mold resistance. Check out Gold Leaf for one very good example. MK Ultra has good mold resistance too.

This was my first banana to grow it was photo period. Was the biggest yielder of those 4 strains ( sour diesel, gorilla glue, and a Bruce banner)…the first time I smoked it after harvest i wasn’t real wild about the over powering banana flavor it had…even tasted it on buds from the other plants beside it a little. After it cured in the jars for a month or so, it became my favorite smoke…really great high and a smooth hit! 5 of 5 stars, definitely recommend

For sure it’s good smoke. I’ve actually been fairly interested in getting a hold of some photoperiod Banana Kush just so I can get a more accurate idea of what it’s really supposed to be like.

I don’t have a problem with autos but I never really trust that the buds grow on an auto are a accurate representation of how it was bred to be. like @Dennis62 said, if you don’t really have the consistency with autos that you get with photos. I can tell you that last summer‘s banana Kush I had two of them side-by-side and one of them yielded nearly 3 times more than the other even in basically identical conditions. One plant expressed its flowers looking more like traditional ruderalis while the other flowered more like a regular old Kush plant. In the end the buds smoke pretty much the same but I prefer the flower structure of a photo.

Thing is I just really like Kush crosses so even if I don’t grow banana Kush again I’ll definitely grow purple Kush or master Kush or just good old original Hindu Kush. That last one is high on my list for Landrace seeds I’d love to get a hold of.
