Autos and Photos in same room?

Hey everyone,

My girls are almost 4 weeks from sprout. They are working on their 3rd and 4th nodes currently (little stunted from over watering in the beginning) and was curious on what people’s opinions are on having some autos in the same room as photos? If mine are almost in Veg do you think if I planted some autos in the next couple weeks that the autos would have time to flower before switching the photos to 12/12? Or should I just wait till I’m about to harvest the photos then try some autos?

Autos dont care about what light schedule they are on. Lots of people run autos and photos with no problems, good luck with your grow :+1: @FunkyGrower

Yep as Dennis said they can be done together without harm depending on if regs and watching for males otherwise it’s all a go. Autos seem to do a little better with more hrs of light than 12 12 but do just fine at 12 12 and to switch it towards the end of need be would possibly benefit u with not blasting them as hard as the end

That’s what I was thinking but someone said it would affect the yield on the autos. Thanks for the clarification.

The photos are feminized, so I guess I’m ordering some autos. Other than starting out in its final pot any other major differences in maintenance of them?

I particularly don’t mess with autos I leave them alone and let them grow. I lollipop after all budlets r formed then defol leaves as needed otherwise they grow as if a wild plant inside. Photos I do defols thru veg and try and keep them spread open but I basically leave them also same way lollipop and leave them. Lol. I did get way better results doing last on plants lots more yield and all but work kinda jacked that up for me now. Too damn tired to do anything after work anymore. :joy::joy:

Yeah I hear ya there! Life happens quick. For the autos if you started them in something like Fox Farm Ocean Forrest do you top feed any amendments throughout?

I was just about to post this exact same question. Thanks for doing it for me.

I treat my autos just like my photos. That goes for soil, training and nutrients. Autos are not finicky as people make them out to be. Here’s a link to my journal take a look around and if anything I can help you out with please let me know Done deal's lil heaven

I suspect it absolutely has to impact yield.

You’re giving the plant x amount less PAR every day…aka less food. Light is the plants food (not the nutes).

FFOF comes preloaded so no amendments, other than calmag and silica, until ppm is around 1000.

Thanks, there is some helpful info in there!

Eh, I guess I’ll do a run with a few autos and then compare them to being in another room for my next batch.

Sounds good, and a TDS meter is one of my next “to purchase”

You’ll still have great herb man, just technically speaking it has to affect yield.

I’m curious about this, as there are many times it’s convenient to throw a couple autos in to fill space etc. Full disclosure…I hate autos…but i grow them :grinning: more for experimental purposes than anything else. I actually find autos harder than photos on almost every level.

Yes! You won’t regret it!

Fair enough, and it’s always great to experiment. I am just getting impatient with the photos and they’re all White Widows. I’d like to get some Hindu Kush autos.

@DoneDeal
Thanks for sharing the link. Your plants look amazing.
